BPD sister painful
My sister, who has BPD, is always in financial crisis because of irresponsible spending. She has been bailed out by family members many, many times. Because she could never pay her rent, the only solution, other then paying her rent in perpetuity, was for her to move to a senior living apartment with lower rent. She was able to get an apartment, but the process was filled with anger and resentment and nasty accusations. She does like her apartment but is miffed that the complex is not up to her aristocratic standards. I was traveling back home and decided to stop by. She was cordial, but stiff and haughty. I brought her some gifts that she did appreciate. When we left, I felt we had a good visit, but about half an hour later she "accidentally" texted me a snide comment about me that was meant to go to a friend of hers. Knowing her "mean girl" tendencies, i feel the "mistake" was deliberate. That was the proverbial "straw" and now i plan to go no contact until she is able to keep an amicable relationship with me. Is it hopeless? Too much to expect because of her BPD?
