Application process?

I applied for the position back in February and passed the interview back in March. They told me to just wait to hear from a Background interviewer for a few weeks. It is now August. I still have my packet of references and documents to hand it. Is this normal for the process? Its been radio silence since March

My day isnt going bad nor is it going amazing but helpful instructions that allowed me to avoid climbing stairs, little extra in cash, an ice cream and a "Thank you so much for helping us by bringing these groceries" goes a long way...
