Is this the beginning of the end of curbside for my market?
Got this random notification I mean, I primarily do shopping anyway now that all of the curb sides are mixed with GMD and are pretty terrible but every now and then one was good

So I learned a few days ago that Walmart are hiring independent contractors with Cargo vans to deliver GM. For example you would see 18 pieces going 45 miles for a certain amount. Now with the contractors it’s 56 pieces going 65 miles. How do I know because I’ve been doing it for 2 weeks now. Spark is forcing you to do shop and deliver lime instacart. That’s a reason you may not see batch orders. This is happening On Washington DC and other markets coming soon
i did mix up a three stop delivery. they were pick ups so there’s no way i had a prescription with any order. as soon as i messed up i called support and they reassured me that i wouldn’t get deactivated but now that i supposedly didn’t deliver a whole prescription im scared.
Yesterday had a good order however, it had a lot of multiple perishables. After having orders timeout before I get to my car, I now pick the majority of my parishables w/o scanning them in. Normally the app would pop-up a banner saying "No activity. Are you still working" then I select yes. Well it did it behind the screen of the item that I was searching for. It canceled 😞. I waited to see if they would let it pop back up...it didn't, so I walked around the food section trying to find the person who must have picked up the order so that they don't have to shop all of that stuff. I was unsuccessful.
Ok???? This was very odd to read while I’m sweating my ass off delivering these orders
finally finished this damn order only for 4 boxes to be leftover that werent apart of my delivery. im back home now and am aware i have 24hrs to bring back, however i dont have time to deliver tomorrow and the store is 30mins out of the way, an hour total. im meant to go an hour out of my way for free? curious what others have done or would do?
edit: specifically for u/azubedo with a link to the screenshot of support essentially telling me it isnt that deep. https://imgur.com/a/Cusa0
edit 2: for those who arent pathetically miserable and are curious what was in each box, one had a porch sprinkler, one had a 42 capsule box of nexium, one had a 6pk of oral b toothbrushes and a cold brew paper filter bag, and the last one had a standard analog clock with a wooden finish. altogether not sure what to with any of it lmfao
so annoying
I didn’t take anything even out of the store other than shopping carts which I always put back.
Lol 10 bags of mulch and some groceries and it rained last night so all that mulch will be soggy too! Hell no!
Got these instructions from a customer yesterday. I was only delivering pool cleaner, so I'm sure these instructions were meant for the last Spark driver.
I had a 5 star rating for almost four years straight until lately some a-holes have been rating me less, bringing me down to 4.99, then 4.96 only a month or two later, and now 4.95 a week after falling to 4.96. I haven't been doing anything different, I give the customers stellar service, I always wait for them to answer about items that are out of stock, substitutions, I never assume what they might want etc., I always help people bring the heavy things like water or bags of soil to wherever they want in they yard or apartment with a smile on my face, I have the workers grab things that are not on the shelves from the back for me so that I can usually get the customers about 97-100% of what they have ordered (rough estimate), I am pretty fast, and I am always extremely polite and always leave a message that says "have a good day" after I drop it off. I even somewhat regularly get increased t i p s and paper-currency t i p s, which as we all know is extremely rare on this platform, yet my rating keeps slowly but steadily sliding. Could it also be that I am doing more deliveries, so now my total delivery count is averaging my rating down? I just don't get it. Has anyone else gone through a slowly slipping rating but then actually had it go back up? This is extremely frustrating and angering because I feel like I am being blamed for things that are completely outside of my control like long wait times for curbside pickups, items out of stock, traffic, etc.. And because it seems that most people only bother to leave a rating when they are unhappy, at least a lot more so than people that give 5 stars, it seems that this will take forever to go back up. When does the rating stop sliding? Until it falls so low that I get deactivated? This sucks and is utter BS.
I'm always on time, and I've never canceled or refused an order. But over the past two weeks, my best paying orders cancelled. 3 times in one day!
I called Spark to find out what was going on, and apparently the Walmart employees are marking me as refusing the orders or saying I wasn't there on time which is completely false.
I had to file a report with Spark because this keeps happening. Has anyone else had this issue with a Walmart store?
I delivered 8 different orders today. The app won’t tell me who the items belong to or what they ordered. How am I supposed to know which 6 items out of 1 label? I reached out to all the customers and some of them told me which items were theirs, the others did not reply. I called support, they told me to just deliver as best I could because they can’t access Sam’s Club orders. Now I’ve finished the order and I have two big boxes of toilet paper and a small box of snacks in my car. What do I do?
I had three high paying pickups canceled right after another as I was sitting in the parking spot waiting for them to come out. then the next day two more. All at the same store except the last one. i call Walmart through the app and explained and then was told he is hoping they will investigate but isn't sure when that will be or if anything will be done. So how can I find the right people to contact to get this investigated and to see if they store is cancelling and even lying by saying it's my fault? thanks
Sooo I’ve had a few blunders lately, mainly app related. The “quantity found” issue is due to the stores running out and the employees saying that (obvi), but the on time arrival issue is usually due to the Spark app not being accurate with the address as well as them not showing all of the items the customer actually has on the app when I go to confirm (leading me to turn around if I “forget” to drop off something)
I’m testing an app idea called MoveDefense for delivery drivers and wanted blunt feedback from people who actually do this work.
The idea is simple: log the day while it’s happening — stops, mileage, fuel, receipts, photos, delays, PreTrip/PostTrip — without filling out a bunch of long forms.
Basically, when the day gets messy, the log still stays clean.
The offer didn’t show “bulk item” or “40-50lb item”. I would have had to read each item in the list before accepting & we all know we don’t be having time for that…but I handled it💪🏾
We recently had a spark driver only store open up here in Houston. It's actually like 45 min from Houston, in Katy. Anyway, looking at the trips from this store, they're ALL going 25-30 or more miles, in every single direction. Every order is quite literally passing by 15-20 closer stores...and I’m not exaggerating. The order contents are all very common grocery items, all express shops. Nothing special. It's fucking unreal. I just looked up this one customers address in the Walmart app to see if I could figure out why, and I don't even have this new ghost store as an option when selecting express delivery to their address. They ordered a 6 pack of coke...that's it. So it not like it's an inventory thing. The app gave me a list of 8 stores for their address, all are within 5 miles. The spark driver ghost store wasn’t even an option in this list. They must be intentionally diverting customers orders to this new location for some reason...but why? It would take an hour to shop and deliver this, when they could have it in 10-20min from any one of the 8 closer locations. Most of these trips take an hour or more to complete, and will leave you two zones away. If you’ve ever been to Houston, this place is absolutely MASSIVE. These offers will leave you in completely unfamiliar territory, unless you take the 40min drive back to the ghost store. This is just mind boggling to me.
