New Rule: Rule #5 (Source Must Be Mentioned)

Hi, guys! We just published a new rule. From now on, a source has to be mentioned for every brand recommended. You can put your source in quote blocks (example 1) or you can mention right after the recommended brand in parentheses (example 2). This lets us know that you intended to comment in this subreddit. This also saves everyone time from fact-checking.

Example 1:

I recommend Dove Shampoo.

>Source: PETA

Example 2:

I would suggest the Milani lipstick (LB).

Conscious Bunny Explains Why The Honey Pot is Not Cruelty Free

Hi, guys. Thanks to this community, I just learned The Honey Pot lost its Leaping Bunny certification in 2021. It appears that The Honey Pot also is currently not certified by any other cruelty free organization. Conscious Bunny explains why The Honey Post is not cruelty free. Here is her post: https://consciousbunny.com/brand/the-honey-pot-co/

I think it would be best to avoid the brand until they get certified again.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Started Selling in Mainland China (Conscious Bunny is Investigating)

Hello everyone,

Anastasia Beverly Hills started selling in physical stores in mainland China. While brands can sell in physical stores in mainland China, they have to follow a set of rules. Unfortunately, it is rare for companies to take these steps to avoid animal testing. For more information about what steps companies need to take to avoid animal testing in mainland China, check Conscious Bunny's infographic: https://consciousbunny.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/03/CB-Infographic-Animal-Testing-Laws-In-China-2.webp

I reached out to Conscious Bunny because Anastasia Beverly Hills did not respond to my list of questions. If you scroll down on the website, she has mentioned that she has been informed about them selling in physical stores in mainland China. For updates on Anastasia Beverly Hill's cruelty free status, please check Conscious Bunny.

Urgent: Charlotte Tilbury Decided not to Rejoin LB's CFI (Reason Discussed in Tiktok video)

It has come to my attention thanks to u/thesweetestgoodbye that Charlotte Tilbury decided not to recommit to Leaping Bunny's Cruelty Free International program. If you did not know CT sells in mainland China. CT being certified is important because LB I believe puts in place a monitoring system with Knudsen&CRC for brands that sell in mainland China.

Sam Mcgraw explained why CT is not recommitting. A suggestion I have for them would be to not use the logo while still being certified or get PETA certification as well and use that while recommitting to CFI.

Here is their contact info: 1 (855) 528-8495 (U.S. phone number)

TheraBreath is No Longer Cruelty Free :(

I have been monitoring TheraBreath's cruelty free status especially since Conscious Bunny put them in the grey area since December of last year. I did research myself to figure out what is going on with their cruelty free status. The parent company (Church & Dwight) stated to me that suppliers do not test "unless required by law" on May 20th. Cruelty Free Kitty just put them in brands to avoid list today unfortunately. I am really bummed out.

Why are Vegans Praising Billie Eilish aka Ms. Aquaphor on the Vegan Subreddit?

I am not sure why the vegan subreddit is praising Billie Eilish for her recent statements. Billie Eilish has many times promoted aquaphor to the point where her fans make jokes about her loving her aquaphor. She made a get ready with me video a year ago (her video is still up) where it got more than 150 million views promoting Maybelline gel eyeliner, Nars concealer, and Revlon Color Style liquid eyeliner. She did not use her platform properly but instead influenced many people to buy products that are tested on animals and yet vegans on the vegan subreddit don't see a problem with how she used her influence in that video to fund companies that animal test. I do not see one post with upvotes on the vegan subreddit reminding vegans that Billie Eilish is plant based and not vegan or calling her out for using products that are animal tested. Just a reminder, animal testing is a very severe form of animal abuse, and it is still ongoing.

She herself has a cruelty free perfume brand, so you cannot say that she is not informed about the animal testing world. She is very informed.

Now, that Benefit has become certified by Cruelty Free International, which brand do you think will go cruelty free next? Also, thank you to u/thesweetestgoodbye for letting us know.

I 100% think it is going to be Maybelline next.
