Are we allowed to post abt thirst here?

I had the privilege of seeing eidola then dgd tour within moths of each other. Im new to concert culture in general and I met an eidola concert goer who leaned over and said, "I hope andrew takes his shirt off this time!" Well he did and he looked great! Dude clearly earned it!

Then i saw him in the dgd concert this past tour in pastel suit n slacks and I think my fetish is fashion now

What is the favorite dgd album of 174 fans at the Seattle concert on June 25th, 2026?

Ive been a DGD and metalcore fan since I was a kid but was never able to interact with the community irl until I was an adult. Im still new to concerts, so why not stick to what I know and get to know folks with a poll?

I asked fans 2 questions:

  1. What is your favorite DGD album?

  2. Is your favorite album your first DGD album?

*It should be noted that out of 174 participants, 6 were there exclusively for one of the opening acts, Horse the Band, who were amazing! 3 were supporting a friend or a minor concert goer. Of these 9, I muddied the data by having them pick an album based off their favorite cover art because why not?

The results are:

  1. Mothership - 44

  2. Dance Gavin Dance - 26

  3. DBM II - 21

  4. Pantheon - 14

  5. Instant Gratification and DBM - tied with 12

  6. JJ and Afterburner - tied with 10

  7. Acceptance Speech and Artificial Selection - tied with 9

  8. Happiness - 7

As for correlation with their first album, 62.5% report their first is indeed their favorite album. As it was a concert, I wasn't very proactive with this question; I asked roughly 40 people. I am not in this statistic, so I am surprised. Then again, this question was only posed to a portion of the participants.

Fun notes:

2 participants requested the WISIRO EP to be on this poll. Noted for the next one. Crazy i missed that ngl

Only 1 person reacted negatively at the number of tallies on JJ. It should be acknowledged that I, as the polling person at a fun concert, did encourage controversial opinions.

What I will add for next time:

I'll record which album is selected when a fan does have same favorite and first album. My hypothesis is that it will be Mothership.

Include WISIRO. Should I include singles or should that be assumed under an album as part of the era?

Conclusions:

From this data we can conclude...that this was a great way to spend my first DGD concert solo. Im new to the area and dont have a concert buddy yet! New to concerts in general so im not even sure thats a real thing. Sorry to my actual data science people out there lol. The thing I know isn't data, its yapping.

But next time (and I hope there will be a next time!), I'd like to put some more effort into planning this.

Thanks everyone for playing my game 👋

Anxiety crossing at the peace arch

Im planning a last minute trip into Canada to see a band.

Has any American who is also multiracial noticed increased issues when coming back into the US? I recently moved to the PNW solo and am concerned it may be a risk to cross the boarder if things are strained as I'm unfamiliar with most things here. I always thought I was white passing until someone up here told me to "make sure I have my green card" implying I was not a natural born citizen and its worried me since. Sorry if this sounds silly.

I have my current US passport, my updated washington plates and dl, and some mail registered to my address for good measure.

Thanks for any advice.

Edit: thanks for the advice!

I am not Jewish but my close Jewish friend wants to move to israel and I dont know how to broach the subject

They converted in college and I am happy that they are happy with this religion. They enjoy it and is very proud, and they and get a lot of peace from it. I love them and we always discuss history and marginalized groups at length. They are well educated in world history and taught me many things. When they began to speak about what Israel was doing was right, it was like a slap to the face. Im a minority myself of a different racial community, and I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Its as if israel was immune to the corruption that countless countries commit.

They only trust me to know their "real thoughts". None of our other friends know about their zionist views, and I was content to still be their friend and hope with discussion, I could broach a dialogue on their beliefs. After all, propaganda is worse when isolated from opposing viewpoints. But now they are trying to move to israel. They have been given resources from their shul to coreograph this move. I dont believe israel is safe for them because they are visibly lgbt and it is an active war zone.

How can I help them to understand whats going on in israel, stop consuming zionist propaganda, and keep them from immigrating? Any article I slyly try to bring up is disregarded as "antisemitic propoganda" or "pro hamas" to them. Sorry for the bummer question, we live in an area with a near nonexistent Jewish community and I am not sure if I can turn to them for help in this.

Hey yall, I just saw brokeback mountain for the first time. I also just learned that it didnt win best picture but it was saved in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant". I can see why. Besides being emotionally devastated by the film, I realize I've never seen a film that loved and grounded itself in the gorgeous world outside. I cant really explain it. Any shmuck can take a drone and fly it over a national park, but this movie capitalized on it like I've never seen before. I need more, got any recs? Any genre welcome.
