I swear this isn't a ragebait post but I just finished listening to self titled in its entirety and I've now heard the first half of DGD's discography (WISIRO to DBM2) and I really do not like self titled. I don't get the hype or praise around it and I think it sounds messier than DBM 1 contrary to what others love to criticise DBM 1 for. I absolutely hate Uneasy Hearts Weigh The Most and I don't get why it's one of their most popular songs. The album as a whole felt very underwhelming and undercooked compared to both DBM before it and Happiness after it

The only songs I liked and would relisten to were Alex English/Buffalo/Me And Zoloft Get Along Just Fine/Caviar/Reprogramming Mental Preprogramming/Skyhook, the rest bewilder me. I also have the (probably) unpopular opinion that I liked how Jon Mess sounds here although I think the lyrics are kinda shite but lyrics has never been a focal point for him anyway.

I'm just wondering if anyone else secretly feels the way about S/T or am I just insane

Hey everyone, I was waiting to see if this was posted since last night, but during their set at Aftershock Andrew said that the band will be releasing another new album next year. Pretty exciting stuff, I personally really enjoyed Pantheon, I’m looking forward to seeing where they go with another new album from this lineup.

Which album do you remember being blown away with as soon as it was released?

Most of my favorite albums have grown on me (both Kurt albums & DBM2)

I hated Tillian until Mothership came out and was in awe at what an improvement I felt it was.

Pantheon was also 1000x better than I was anticipating. I have to learn to just trust the process.
