Netanyahu minister to Reform rabbi: 'You're marrying dogs in your synagogues'
>Likud Minister May Golan lashed out at Reform rabbi, MK Gilad Kariv of the opposition's Democrats, in the Knesset on Wednesday, accusing him of "marrying dogs in your delusional synagogues."
>Golan, Israel's minister of social equality, spoke at the Knesset plenum about Likud party activist and convicted felon Rafi Kedoshim: "he volunteers with drug addicts, in rehabilitation centers with at-risk youth, he visits homes and lectures and devotes his free time and life to this thing. You, Gilad Kariv, won't reach his level even in another two hundred reincarnations when you go with Women of the Wall or marry dogs in your delusional synagogues." Women of the Wall is a feminist prayer group advocating for egalitarian prayer at the Western Wall in Jerusalem.
>Kariv said in response: "May Golan didn't choose to slander me with her antisemitic remarks - she chose to slander millions of Reform Jews in Israel and around the world. Soon we will be rid of this antisemitic, racist, and corrupt bunch."
>Last year, Kariv was targeted by another lawmaker in Benjamin Netanyahu's government, Galit Distel Atbaryan, who ordered him to be removed from a Knesset meetingafter a heated discussion, saying "The Jews here want to continue."
