Fluval Spec 16g

Hey I’m looking for some advice. I haven’t really made an aqua scape before. I’ve been messing around with this hard scape for an hour. I have some other large rocks and small drift wood I could add. More spidery kind of roots. (Added in the last pictures) But I think this looks decent.

I’m going for a sort of nature / river type look. Probably could have capped the aqua soil with sand and done the scatter rock thing but I will likely move in 2 years and would put that effort in for a longer term tank.

I’m going to add in some of the small rocks scattered around once I lock the big pieces in.

Plan is to add low tech plants. I like the “immediate impact” of a heavily planted tank. But I also have a small 5gal to keep any used plants if it’s too full.

-Java fern tucked into the driftwood
-Anubias and buce tucked in closer to the substrate
-Stems like rotala, Ludwigia and hygrophila poly in the back
-Crypts in the mid ground
-And then some dwarf grass up front

Should I add more hardscape? Less? Rearrange the rocks at all to look more natural?
