So I decided to buy a 10cm tri-fold single memory foam mattress (£69 from Amazon) and u zipped the bottom two sections and removed the foam. Trimming them to fit neatly as a single bed.

The top third is 75cm wide and tapers down to 60cm at the feet. The top section I am planning on putting a 4mm thick HDPE plastic sheet to give my head more support at the top end.

Even folded it is quite bulky, but I won’t mind that if it is comfy.

Might take this and my inflatable mattress on my next road test just in case.

Did my first ever Tesla Model 3 car camping trip. Just local. Used an inflatable SUV mattress but only inflated 2/3rds. Slept so brilliantly I am definitely going to do more.

As I do this solo, I just put down the larger side in the back. With the driver seat forward I have a great single seat for getting changed and makes it far easier to get into bed.
