Best way to obtain a bike for a nonlocal?

I'm coming from California to do this trail with some of my friends, but I'm having trouble finding a good source for a temporary bike. I looked at unlimited biking but my local friend told me that they are quite unreliable. Does anyone here have a good recommendation for a bike? I'd be willing to pay to be able to lend one as well.

How to get a bike for a temporary trip for the GAP?

In a week, I plan to go to DC to ride the GAP trail for 3 days with some of my friends. I'm having trouble choosing the best way to get a bike for this. I looked at unlimited biking, but I was told by a local that their bikes are not really reliable as they break down a lot. And since I'm not local, it's hard to verify any other stores to see if they would have good bikes.

Does anyone have any recommendations to rent/obtain a bike for a 3 day ride? Preferably a gravel bike, but a road bike should be okay. If there are any locals who have a bike that they wouldn't mind lending, I would pay a generous rate.
