Coventry spaces with aircon - beat the heat this week
a) The Albany Theatre (Earlsdon but just outside the city centre part) just posted: ☀️ Want to get out of the heat? Come to the Albany! ☀️
If you're sweltering outside or at home, we've got plenty of room in our foyer, with lovely aircon! We've got plenty of tables, free Wi-Fi, drinks and plug sockets for anyone who'd like to get some work done, or just to meet up with friends.
b) Not free, but McDonalds branches all seem to have decent aircon & you can sit in them nursing a drink for a long time.
c) Coventry Cathedral is free; no aircon but it's usually fairly cool in there. Open Monday - Saturday: 10am to 4pm; Sunday: 12pm to 3.30pm (plus during services). You can sit in there as long as you like (mobile signal is not great though / no wifi).
d) Other old churches are also fairly cool e.g. Holy Trinity, St John the Baptist.
e) Warwick Arts Centre has aircon & places to sit around the foyer, CV4.
Any other ideas?

Priory Undercrofts - new experience
I'm not linked to these guys, but I have seen the film & it's very good!
Priory Undercrofts have had a bit of a makeover as we begin the process of improving the visitor experience.
We’re currently screening on a loop the (excellent) ‘Power & Piety’ film - it’s only 18 mins but packed full of interesting background and information about the history of St Mary’s Priory Cathedral.
Visitors can come along and soak up the atmosphere anytime during our public opening hours (12-4 tues/thurs /fri/sat) - with (free) 1 hour timed access PIN codes available from the main PVC building allowing folks to explore the space at their own pace.
Ps. We’ll also be putting on a selection of events down there in the coming months - check out the full programme here:-
Would you like to join one of Coventry's 730+ social & hobby groups across the city? Need advice on which group is for you? Or curious about making a new friend?
