Thinking about lateral to a limited term position. If it doesn't become permanent, can I execute my return rights to go back to my prior department?

Hi all, basically my question is just in the title. I have passed probation in my current role, which is permanent, and I'm thinking about making a lateral move to a different agency but the new position is limited term (12 months). The position might become permanent but possibly no. In the event that it doesn't become permanent, can I execute my return rights and go back to my old agency? I know I wouldn't be guaranteed to be in the same office/program or anything, but I'd at least have a job lol.

Another question about limited term: if the term gets renewed for another 12 months but doesn't become permanent, and I stay on through that term as well (so 24 months total, as an example) can I still execute my return rights if it's not renewed again?

How to add citric acid for rinse, is it okay to add water to acid?

Hi everyone! I'm still figuring everything out here but one thing I wanted to get some clarity on is citric acid. I have hard water, so I'm looking to start including citric acid in my rinse cycle. I've seen a few people say they add dry citric acid to their softener section of the washer, and then top it with water from the tap. From a chemistry standpoint, I thought this was a nono? Acid should be added slowly to water to prevent a violent reaction, not water to acid all at once. Thoughts?? Is it better to create a citric acid/water solution separately and then add that to the softener section? Or is it really okay to add water to acid?

Should I try a CPAP? REI 7.4/hr but I'm exhausted all day

Hi everyone! I recently had a home sleep study after a few years of increasing issues with sleep. I'm exhausted during the day, I wake up often at night, my husband has witnessed me gasping at night occasionally.

The home sleep study stated the overall REI of 7.4/hr, and I was diagnosed with mild OSA. The lowest my SpO2 went during sleep was 92%. The report stated that they recommended a CPAP with pressure range 5.0 to 15.0 cmH2O, with a target AHI of <5/hr.

Since the goal is just to get my occurrences to less than 5 per hour, and I'm currently at 7.4 per hour, I'm conflicted on whether a CPAP would actually be beneficial. There is a note on the report though that numbers could be underrepresented.

Anyone else here with numbers like mine and had a good result with CPAP? My primary physician is open to ordering this for me, but he also referred me to the sleep specialist since I was on the fence. Thing is, the sleep specialist is booked out until late December. So I guess at this time I'm considering whether I should just tell my primary to get things going with the CPAP, and then visit the sleep specialist after a few months. Or, don't start CPAP yet until I see the sleep specialist.

Thanks for reading and for any advice or insight here!

Telework bill AB-1729 amended to remove the CHP, DFF, and CDCR exclusion

Hey all I know there were some departments that were listed as excluded from the telework bill, where they would not have been required to provide the justification for reporting in office. The recent amendment that took place in the Assembly Appropriations committee removed that exclusion. Awesome for sure! This should be a requirement across all state agencies!

Edit: sorry I guess my screen shot of the bill section didn't take, but here's the link to the bill on LegInfo: AB-1729
