S1 E1 Rewatch observations (spoilers all seasons)

I have typed these up from my rabid note writing the other night. Looking forward to hearing everyone else’s thoughts and what you’ve seen on a rewatch?

Notes:
1st song to play in the series: “we gotta get out of this place”

Meagan and the doll/s

96 days without incident - was Abby’s death the last incident? Before Meagan and her mum and then everything that follows.

Norman, lake of tears, fairies, etc

“If there’s no such thing as monsters, then Norman is alive” - what if Julie story walks to the point of stopping the monsters from existing, then no one will have been killed by them?

Tree, crows, etc

Observed the music being played, pot throwing/claywork (like Fatima making her clay monster?) out the front of Colony House - recurring themes for the House

“Lauren Pratt, she was the one who”
“I know who she is”
Who WAS Lauren Pratt? This dialogue suggests something more I believe.

Train tracks - there’s got to be something here - relating to Jim being a roller coaster engineer? I think also has to be related to the way out - Tabitha talking about a switchback? Shoutout to u/stolengenius for the roller coaster switchback info

Ravens vs crows?

Sara - “that’s the part that’s cruel. Expecting to find the road that takes you home.”
I just found this line of dialogue to be particularly poignant now we know from Mari that there’s something evil and ancient that delights in the suffering of the people trapped in FromVille.

Arizona + New York plates - I forget who’s these were, only that they were important sounding state plates to me based off the characters

On meeting Jade he’s wearing some bracelets on his wrist - is one of them possibly like one that Tabitha has made, eg in a different lifetime that found its way to him?

Boyd and Ellis dialogue:
Ellis: “you know this is suicide”
Boyd: “take care of the family.”
I think Boyd will have to sacrifice himself in some way at the end of the show to end the cycle or help the others escape. The theme keeps coming back to saving the children. It very well could mean sacrificing all the parents and only allowing the children to escape.

Thomas mentioned - his death I believe was the “event” that gave the family their “break” in reality and helped draw them to the town.

Ethan’s seizure - like Sara’s seizure I believe these mean something. We know that Julie seizes when storywalking. Ethan said he saw the lake of tears. I believe he was storywalking and did, in fact, see the lake of tears. This is why in particular I think Jim tells him this as a spirit back at the van, post-death.

Witnessed Bunnings employee getting injured (NSW)

Update edit: a lot of consensus is that I fucked up, it wasn’t my business to report it, and that the employee will likely face some level of consequences either formal or informal.

I’m really sad that this is highly likely the case when the employee did nothing wrong, the equipment failed them due to no fault of her own, and I guess I am spoiled in my place of employment - if we get hurt on the job, we get looked after. This should be the case for everyone.

I just thought that if in 5 years time she had a long term injury linked to this incident, she would bloody well want the record of it. I’ve been victim to shitty work place practices and wanted to defend someone in the way I thought was right.

Why didn’t I immediately report it? Because like everyone else, I am human, I had to leave because of my own life shit. However I called the next day, and I’m not fully brain dead so was able to recall the details clearly.

Next time I will keep my nose out.

update over.

===

had a staff member help me getting lids off a higher shelf. The yellow brick step she used slid out from underneath, causing her to fall and land heavily on her hip/buttock.

Edit: I also observed the bottom of the step and saw the gripping “feet” were completely smooth and that’s why it slid out from under her.

I and another person in the aisle made sure she was okay, told her to do an incident report, and left.

Yesterday I called (the day after the incident) and spoke to a manager who was her manager to ensure that she had done an incident report and to make sure she was checked on. Apparently she hadn’t filled in a report but I felt she was young and embarrassed, maybe thought it wasn’t a big deal. The manager said he would talk with her and get it sorted. I also asked him to tell her I hoped she was okay.

I think I’ve done everything right, I’m just really hoping she does in fact get looked after. Does anyone have experiences with getting injured like this working at Bunnings and how did it go?

She was just young and big sis vibes kicked in. I don’t want her to end up 5 days later with a cooked back.
