Has anyone else embraced "skip-care" lately?

As someone who loves K-beauty, I never thought I'd end up simplifying my routine this much.

For the past few months, I've been experimenting with "skip-care," and most days I'm just using a cleanser, moisturizer, and sunscreen. At night, it's usually cleanser and moisturizer, with an active thrown in occasionally when I feel like I need it.

That said, I'm actually loving the shift toward the skip-care philosophy. My routine is faster, less expensive, and honestly my skin doesn't seem any worse for it. Actually, it may have made me more intentional about the products I use.

What's funny is that K-beauty used to be associated with 10-step routines, layering toners, essences, serums, ampoules, masks, and everything in between. So it feels a little weird that I'm getting excited about doing less.

Any tips for hyperpigmentation? 😩

I've been trying to fade some stubborn hyperpigmentation, and I feel like I've reached the point where I've tried almost everything people recommend online.

For context, my hyperpigmentation is mostly from old acne marks, and while some spots eventually fade, others seem to stick around forever. I've been consistent with sunscreen, but progress feels so slow.

Stop gatekeeping, what's the best K-beauty hydrogel mask you've ever used?

Some people LOVE by Biodance, others say VT gives better results, and I've seen a lot of love for COSRX and Be Wants lately too.

If you could only buy one hydrogel mask from now on, which would it be and why?

Did you notice a real difference in hydration, glow, redness, skin texture, or was it mostly just a nice self-care moment?

I'm looking for honest opinions, especially from people who've tried multiple brands. 👀

Which hydrogel mask is worth the hype, and which one isn't? ✨🫧

Now that Olive Young US is here, is it actually worth buying from, or are there better options?

Olive Young launched in the US and I’m a bit curious about whether it’s actually worth using or if it’s more of a convenience thing.

For those who’ve already tried it, are the prices, shipping times, and product selection good compared to other places? Or does it end up being cheaper/better to just order from other K-beauty retailers or even Amazon?

Where is everyone actually buying skincare in the US.

K-beauty wishlist vs Prime Day reality did it actually deliver this year?

How did everyone’s Prime Day go this year 👀

Did you find really good deals, or was it kind of underwhelming? Especially for the K-beauty goodies...did your wishlist actually go on sale?

What did you end up buying? Or what were you hoping would go on sale but never did? And for those who actually bought something, was it actually worth it, or are you already feeling some buyer’s remorse?

What do you guys think about the aegyosal trend?

I’ve been seeing it everywhere both naturally emphasized and also through makeup/fillers and I’m curious how people actually feel about it in real life...

Like I sort of get the appeal because it gives that “softer/more youthful” look, and it’s kind of become a signature beauty detail in Korean makeup trends. But I’ve also seen people say it can look a bit overdone depending on how it’s done.

Do you think it’s a timeless beauty trend in Korea, or more of a passing phase that’s just really popular right now?

Which Kpop idol has your favorite personal style? 🖤

I think my top picks would have to be Seulgi and Yves. Seulgi has this really cool vintage-leaning aesthetic but what I love most is how much she switches it up. She'll go from something retro and throwback one day to dark and edgy the next and somehow it all still feels like her. She doesn't seem locked into one look and it makes her style so fun to follow.

And then Yves has this very experimental, alternative energy that I don't really see many other idols pulling off. She's not afraid to go weird with it and it always ends up looking intentional rather than try-hard. Like she genuinely seems to dress for herself and you can feel that. That kind of alternative confidence is rare in kpop and I think she's so underrated for it.

But there are SOOOO many idols with incredible style and I feel like some of them don't get enough credit for it.

So who's your favorite? Are you more into the clean, minimalist looks? The bold experimental runway stuff? The streetwear aesthetic?

How do you know when acne can be fixed with skincare vs when you actually need medication?

I’ve been struggling to figure this out and I feel like I keep getting mixed advice everywhere.

At what point do you know acne is something you can actually fix with skincare or when it’s just not enough and you need something stronger like Accutane or prescription treatment?

I just don’t want to keep overloading my skin with products if I actually need medical treatment…but I also don’t want to jump to something too intense if it’s not necessary.

Would really appreciate hearing how people figured out where that line is for them 🙏

Which viral K-beauty product ended up wrecking your skin barrier? 😭

What K-beauty product did you buy because everyone online was raving about it, only for it to end up completely wrecking your skin barrier?

Has anyone actually tried an LED face mask? Do they work or is it just a look?

I keep seeing these all over my FYP, on TV shows... and honestly they look sort of scary but also cool, and I can't tell if they actually do anything or if people just buy them to look futuristic on camera lol

Like do they actually help with acne/texture/anti-aging? And if they do work, how long did it take to notice a difference? Also is there a budget option that's worth it or do you have to spend a lot to see results?

Which K-beauty brand do you wish was easier to find in U.S. stores?

Maybe it's just me, but there are so many K-beauty brands I hear great things about that are still surprisingly hard to find in physical stores in the U.S.

It feels like the same handful of brands are available at places like Ulta, Target, or Sephora, while a lot of other popular Korean brands are still mostly limited to online shopping.

Is there a K-beauty brand you wish was more accessible offline in the U.S.?
