Is AI training money train over?

OpenAI just announced they are running out of money to pay humans for data training

‘…the pause would be taking place on "reinforcement learning training on our latest models".

This is a training method in which AI models improve through direct feedback, which improves their ability to carry out tasks and respond to users more effectively.’

30k project

Yes, you read that right we’re almost at 30k now. Added 4k in less than 24h. Is this a sign that they are scaling and we will have more work now even if it is this AI Slop grading crap? Or do you think is there a massive cull incoming?

Project **** instant offer

Got an offer email for project that said it pays per task, with minimum $20/h and “usually $50-80/h”. The offer said more info will come soon… 9 days later nothing.

I saw other ppl posted about getting that instant offer, did you get onboarding info after that?

I’ve been on the big project for a few weeks and would love a change especially with how messy it has been

Making Edits After Submission

On the big project, if you couldn’t finish the task to top standard in the time they give you… Do you go back and make additional edits straight after submission? Do you make these edits off the clock (insightful off)?

I’ve been struggling a bit to give good quality on some tasks. Should I make edits after submission? Is this common practice?

STOP POSTING EARNINGS

I recently got onto to the big project after spending months applying to different roles and getting rejected for everything. The amount of worker churn is insane, tons of people get offboarded and replaced by newbies every week. Tasks are getting harder to come by with more competition. Then, I log into Reddit and see tons of clueless ppl posting their earnings, why??? You’re only making it worse for yourselves and everyone else. We’re just worker ants to them and they will throw us all out at the first convenient opportunity. Ai is getting better at these tasks everyday, soon only a tiny minority of highly specialised ppl will be doing Ai training.(and these ppl have well paid jobs so won’t rely on mercor). You may post your earnings at your own peril. Don’t.

TL;DR: Less than 1% of applicants land a project with Mercor. Don’t bother applying. If I could go back in time I would tell myself to forget about it and not waste my time.
