Strabismus billing question

patient is s/p strabismus surgery from 30 years ago and has subsequently developed subtenons cysts. they are rather large: OD greater than 1 cm, appears to be possibly more than one. left eye has one less than 1 cm. for the right eye eye but potentially both eyes it might include detaching and reattaching the muscles.

What cpt codes should we use?

Billing OCT

We perform OCT on many new ophthalmology patients (we are a specialty practice) to rule out optic nerve pathology. Determining the appropriate ICD-10 code under the LCD can be challenging.

How does your practice bill 92133 when the OCT is medically necessary to evaluate for optic nerve disease but is ultimately normal? Do you bill it or absorb it into the E/M?

Starting mycophenolate

I’ve been on hydroxychloroquine 2x a day for over a year and still experiencing almost daily pain plus the flares haven’t really subsided. They just added mycophenolate 1x day for me in addition to the hydroxychloroquine.

Has anyone else been put on this regimen and see benefits and decreased daily symptoms?
