which one should i prefer in branch change..people keep telling me not to take mth and now im confused as fuck

what are the chances that the cutoffs for branch change decrease by 0.1 this year? given we had ganguly, sumit ganguly and other profs who did worse grading than last year... like ee at 9.4 sds at 9.3 and mth at 9.0 is it possible?
