Need help understanding why people go to the big firms

Hey there,

I own my own firm and I have always been on my own and never joined CRE in the traditional sense of starting at JLL, CBRE or somewhere similar. I am looking to grow my firm starting Q1 but I keep getting tied up on the split structure.

Why do so many agents agree to these 50/50 or best case 60/40 splits? I have a more boutique mindset, where 50/50 & 60/40 should only be for people I genuinely need to help and teach. An experienced agent should be at least 70/30. So why are other agents so on board for JLL at 50/50? Do the big firms literally hand you leads and sales to the point that it outweighs being at a smaller firm and keeping more of what you make? Like, how is a 50/50 with the house before your true split even worth it?

All my agents get the same resources (for the most part) as the bigger firms, except for the name.

I am looking to see if I am missing something because I genuinely have no ability to grasp the concept of going to a big firm for less because I have never done it. Trying to understand why Big over boutique so I can understand the thought process before I do a growth push.

My first loaf

I used a Mockmill 100 and milled the berries, it tastes solid for sure. Is homemade/milled bread always more dense then store bought or is there something else I should do next time?

My loaf pan was wrong because my new one got delayed as I was making it. So it was 11.5x5.5 instead of a 9x5 pan. Assuming thats why it is shorter than ideal.

But mainly curious if homemade breads are typically more dense than store bought.

How bad is St. Anton?

I like to travel and see other places and make it Snowboarding trip. I am looking into St. Anton for one of my trips in February 2027.

Is it actually “bad” when it comes to middle of the week crowding. I can’t tell if people are just complaining to complain, I feel like most mountains are crowded.

Is it unbearable? It seems like a fun and worth it trip, was curious if anyone has been and compare it to other mountains like Whistler.

**Edit** Plan to go in February or March

Confused about Worlds tickets

I can’t find anything reliable when I try and look it up.

Were we supposed to get something from ticket master by now? I got my confirmation (same with a friend) about the world’s ticket registration. Both of us actively use the ticket master accounts and league accounts. Neither of us got an email from ticket master about the one time use instructions on how to complete things.

Sorry if I am misunderstanding how it works but don’t want to miss my window.

Real Estate Agent to Real Estate Lawyer

I am currently the owner of a Commercial and Residential real estate agency and have been looking into the legal path lately.

I was curious if anyone has made the same transition and opened a real estate attorney's office. It is hard to find online how this specific transition could scale if you open a practice and primarily deal in closings.

I have a very large connection base, so on paper, it seems like I should be able to scale quicker than most, but I don't really understand how the financial scaling works. Is it an expectation to make like 80k situation, or if you do it well, you are 1m+ in 5 years.

When you try and research the ranges are astronomical, and my situation is very specific, so was curious if anyone has actually done this before.
