Differential Fluid Change at 7800 miles ? Why?

Bought a ‘26 HR-V Sport AWD in Feb and it already is saying a differential fluid change is needed at 7800 miles. It’s just me that drives it and has been from Ohio to NC back in May but mainly commutes 25 miles a day.

Reading the manual, this fluid change is 15,000-30,000 depending on terrain (which is mostly flat) also I still have the factory oil and it’s at 30% life. My dealership won’t do free oil changes unless it’s at 15% but I’m still taking it in because to me the oil needs changed and it’s been at 30% for a month now.

First road trip (1200 miles round)

Lemme just say, this car did FANTASTIC going to ocean isles this past week. Not only was it slightly overloaded, this thing did not skip a beat or give any issues. I got 29 MPG for the trip and went over mountains in West Virginia, Virginian and North Carolina.

For those saying this car is underpowered, you just don’t know how to drive. This did not struggle to move us or cargo in any way. Just awesome.

The only “issue” was a battle scar to the windshield which luckily I bought the Honda Care windshield protection so that’ll be fixed.

All in all, can’t recommend this vehicle enough. It was comfy and did more than it should have!
