Honestly I think, aftr looking into IIITDM Jabalpur BDes, I really don’t feel it’s a good place to start if you’re serious about design. The whole course feels v engineering driven..they literally make design students do heavy coding n push towards a tech profile instead of actually building strong design thinking. It’s more like they’re trying to turn student into an engineer who knows a bit of design.

Also the design exposure can feels limited cuz location won’t help much in terms of opportunities.

Faculty background, I really tried hard but couldn't find one with good design background 😭

And about newer programs like IIT Indore BDes program and IIT Roorkee BDes program, I honestly can’t say much because they’ve just started and no batch has passed out yet, so it’s kind of a gamble.

Overall i must say, it just feels risky to start a design career from these if your goal is proper design. It might work if you specifically want tech + uiux type roles, but for other design, there are much better environments out there.
