High-paying fan deleted his OF, started messaging me on Instagram, then got upset over my boundaries. How would you handle this?
I’m looking for some perspective from other creators because this situation left me feeling a bit confused.
I had a fan who originally found me on Chaturbate and eventually became one of my higher spenders on OnlyFans. He regularly purchased content, paid for a girlfriend-style experience through OF messaging, and we built what I felt was a good creator/fan relationship.
Then one day he deleted his OnlyFans account without saying anything.
Instead, he started messaging me on Instagram. I don’t use Instagram to chat with fans because it’s not a secure place for me to send photos or videos, it’s not where I conduct my business, and I reserve messaging for people who support me through my paid platforms.
When I wasn’t replying very often on Instagram, he became increasingly passive-aggressive and frustrated. He told me he wanted to keep talking and continue supporting me.
I explained that Instagram isn’t a platform I use for fan conversations, but I did offer him another option. I have a premium lifetime Telegram access for people who specifically want to communicate with me off-platform.
That’s where things became confusing.
As soon as I mentioned that the Telegram access was a paid service, he became upset.
He kept saying that he wanted to continue building our connection and continue supporting me, but he wasn’t interested in paying for the communication option I offered.
From my perspective, it felt contradictory… he said he wanted the connection, but wasn’t willing to use either of the paid avenues I make available for that connection.
I’m genuinely curious how other creators would interpret this.
Do you see this as someone who simply wanted free access after leaving OF? Is offering a paid Telegram option a reasonable boundary? Or would you have handled this differently?
I’m always trying to balance being kind and appreciative of my supporters while also protecting my time, privacy, and keeping clear boundaries between my business and personal social media.
