Im new to the subreddit, but I just gotta ask. How yall feel about current Halo lore?

I personally really like it, the stuff with the Precursors, Flood, and all of that is really cool. I don't care about the Banished, I feel like Infinite kinda ruined their charm, they should've remained a smaller faction, not be the main focus. And I especially don't care about the Endless.

My biggest gripe with 343's lore though is how it was put together. 343 was set on making Humans and Forerunners a seperate thing, but they just rushed it in Halo 4, and began releasing book after book like not other. I feel like 343 should've been patient, if they wanted Humans and Forerunners to be seperate things, they should've been built up over the 343 games, build up the mystery and intrique, and then once the truth is revealed, they could then begin releasing books explaining the lore.

But due to not doing any of those things, I feel like Halo's lore regarding the ancient-era feels convaluted and messy because the books began coming out right after Halo 4 leading up right into Halo 5.

Overall: I like the lore, but I kinda liked the charm with Humans being Forerunner, and 343 retconning it in such a rushed and sloppy manner really hurt the lore they were going for. They made good lore, just didn't execute it well.
