Rotary Evaporator Bump Trap filling slowly

Rotary Evaporator Bump Trap filling slowly

Hello,

I am running experiments with toluene, which I am removing using a rotary evaporator. The bump trap has been filling slowly over hours, and I'm not quite sure why. You can see from the picture that it's just clear/clean toluene, and not a sudden foaming, as the material is black in nature. There's even some toluene stuck at the adapter.

The system is set to 77mbar pressure, and the bath temperature is 60 C. The chiller is set at 2 C due to the lab being pretty warm (around 25 C right now).

Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

EDIT:
Thank you for all the answers and concerns on the angle.

I was able to fix those concerns by disassembling the system and changing the angle. The operator of the device told me it couldn't be done. Frustrating but at least I learned something!

I have a second bump trap that is larger, and I will wrap it with foil to help insulate it.

I read a few other proper operations tips, which I think may help.

EDIT 2:
We took all the recommendations we could, and tested them today with a volume double the usual size. Time to finish was under an hour compared to 3-4 hours. So, yay! Success! Thanks for all the help (and occasional snark)!
