Sokongan Kesihatan Mental untuk Belia di KK

Hi guys! 👋

What do you wish was different about mental health support in Sabah?

Hi everyone!

We're a team of researchers and clinicians from Hospital Universiti Malaysia Sabah (HUMS) and Sunway University, and we're currently working on mental health research involving young adults in Sabah.

We thought we'd open things up to the r/Sabah community. Is there anything you've ever wanted to ask about mental health or mental health services in Kota Kinabalu or Sabah more broadly? Ask a question and let’s have a conversation.

At the same time, we'd really like to hear from you too. What do you think are some of the biggest mental health challenges young adults in Sabah face today? What barriers or obstacles have you noticed when it comes to getting mental health support here?

If you've ever sought mental health support yourself, we'd also be interested to hear about your experience. Was there anything that made it easier or harder to get the help you needed? Is there anything you think could be improved?

We're genuinely curious to hear what people in the community think and what you've experienced.

Mental Health Support for Young Adults in KK

Hi everyone! 👋

We're part of a small research team working on Project HIDUP BAH, and we're reaching out to young adults in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah.

If the past year has been hard for you (e.g., hurting yourself or thinking about ending your life), we wanted to share something that might be helpful.

We are inviting young adults in KK to join a skills group where you learn practical ways to handle big emotions, cope with stress, and build better relationships. This is part of a study we're running with a small team of researchers and clinicians from Sunway University and Hospital University Malaysia Sabah (HUMS).

If anyone is interested or would like to understand more about the study, feel free to comment or message us. We're happy to answer questions about the study, eligibility, or what taking part involves.

If you're in crisis right now, please see the pinned comment below.
