Solo travel to kundasang & kota kinabalu

So i am travelling in July end from Kl to kk

I have 3.5 days in total. I had enquired a lot of tour operators for 1N2D trip to kundasang, but as its solo they are asking min 900 rm and its a private rental trip.

But i dont think that its that expensive for 1N 2D in kundasang. As kk is fine with grab, i am not opting for package. But for kundasang its too expensive

Suggest some tour operators who charge less and is it safe to have a private tour?

Genuine question; kenapa begini reaksi sabahan dengan demonstrasi anti-rasuah?

Bukan ka dalam masa yg sama, orang sabah mau sabah maju, bebas rasuah, dan sebagainya? Jadi sy honestly confuse

NT Land in Kuala Penyu

Hello, I need to ask some things to the community here.

I was born and raised in Brunei, my mother is Sabahan and my dad is Bruneian. My mother owns land in Kuala Penyu, Sabah. From what I understand, my siblings and I may not be eligible to inherit the land because it is Native Title land. The land is approximately 6 acres. Before making any decisions, I'd like to better understand the legal procedures and the current market.

So my questions are:

  1. Is there a way for my mother's children to inherit the land?

  2. Other than selling, what can we do to the land that would benefit us?

  3. If we do sell the land, how much would be the appropriate price?

  4. Who can we sell it to?

  5. Has anyone here gone through this process before? If so, what would you recommend we do?

Please help to share some insights 🙏🏻 Thank you in advance.

Logic with some people, I really cannot fathom

What kind of dumb take is this? People who go to pub or drink alcohol cannot be taken seriously? I swear some people logic thinking are so low. Why are they even finding fault on people who trying to make a difference?

You didn't protest then shut up la. Mind your own business.

For Drs, is it worth it to do HO in Sabah?

Medical student from KL here, thinking about doing HO in Sabah. I don't mind being away from family and friends plus I want to experience a new environment. I also think it would be easier for me to get since less people will be applying. What are your experiences/advice?

Looking for friends to hang with around KK

Hello, everyone.

Just like the title suggests, I'm looking for people to hang out with. It can be a group or solo, I don't mind. Age group around 21-30. No hate against anyone older, I just find it harder to relate but it's not a rigid limit.

I do have other friends but they easily get drained (not that they mention it to me, I can just tell by their faces) from socialising and hanging out. They are working adults so I 100% understand how tiring it can be.

I am also working and my job does drain me but for me hanging out, doing anything with anyone outside of work energises me back up. It feels less miserable than going to work and going back home just to do nothing.

The activity can be anything. I'm open to suggestions. I am not that sporty but I don't mind pushing myself.

More details about me: I'm 23F. I listen to post-hardcore. I love movies, animes, and mangas. I do play games but very limited.

If anyone is interested just DM me right away on IG @lockedinstillness

[Note: Not sure if anyone cares or remembers me or my old post but update: everything went well. I have a comfortable place to stay and I work as a special needs teacher now.]

I see alot of migrated sabahans coming back to KK. Is being overseas really bad?

I've been thinking of saving up and migrating since I dont feel like Malaysia is my home. Been going around working in different states and now feels like my hometown is not home.

But everytime I ask Malaysians who has been abroad, the answer is always a tough one. But then I do see alot of Malaysian communities in overseas like Sweden, NZ, UK, etc.

Just want pov from a sabahan. Really puts me in a dilemma.

Is it legal to offer private driving services in Sabah ( Grab)

Hi guys , a 27 M , ive been working as a Grab driver in Kota Kinabalu and Sandakan for the past year. Recently I’ve been thinking about doing more like private driving for tourists or locals on a part-time basis, outside of ride-hailing apps especially for long distances like to Kundasang or Kota belud.

Has anyone here has experience with doing offline driving?

Should someone who is already an MP be allowed to serve as an ADUN at the same time? (And vice versa?)

Both are already full-time jobs with different responsibilities. If one person is doing both, are they really able to give each role the attention it deserves?

I understand the argument that it improves coordination between the federal and state governments, but it also concentrates power in fewer politicians and limits opportunities for new leaders to step up. Maybe it doesn’t have to be constitutionally prohibited, but logically and morally, shouldn’t we expect politicians to dedicate themselves to one mandate at a time?

This seems especially common in Sabah. Curious what everyone else thinks.

I’m referring to holding both positions simultaneously, not serving as an MP in one term and an ADUN in another.

To those who voted the CM's party last PRU DU

What made you vote for them again? I genuinely want to know what I'm missing from the 5 years of their first term. And if whatever good they did, does that outweighs the scandals that have been going around?

What happens when people believe a photo or video of you that isn’t real?

Hello everyone, I’m a final year design student researching the lived experiences of people who have been affected by AI-generated deepfakes, or have experienced some form of image, video, or audio-based abuse.

If you have personally experienced this or know someone who has, and is comfortable with sharing their experience, I would appreciate it if you could take part in my survey 🙏 This survey will take approximately 10-15 minutes and is completely anonymous. You will not have to provide any personal details such as name or contact number.

My goal is to better understand these experiences so that I can design a project that raises awareness on this issue, while still portraying the issue in a respectful and accurate manner.

Thank you so much for your consideration!

Sabah's GDP Growth Sharply Rebounded to 5.1% in 2025 After a Sluggish 1.2% Growth from the year before.

Based on the data released by DOSM, Sabah recorded a 5.1% GDP growth in 2025, slightly below national average of 5.2%. This is a sharp increase from 1.2% recorded in 2024. If we look at the details:

  1. The rebound was driven by a significant growth in Construction Sector (28.3%), the highest among any states in Malaysia. - I guess the on-going Pan Borneo Highway project and the expansion of Sepanggar Port to increase its cargo handling capacity by three times do play a part.

  2. Manufacturing Sector grew by 5.0% from just 1.2% in 2024, driven by vegetable & animal oils & fats and food processing - more down streaming of agriculture output?

  3. Mining & Quarrying reversed its downfall of -4.9% (2024) to 4.9% growth. - But does that mean the net growth is zero year-on-year? Anyway, the report says it was due to higher output of crude oil and increased natural gas production.

  4. Services Sector grew 4.5%, supported by wholesale & retail trade, food & beverage, hospitality and government services. - Tourism seems like a mainstay economic sector for many Sabahans.

  5. Agriculture Sector only grew 0.9% but still better than the -3.2% contraction in 2024 driven by oil palm output.

Other interesting finds:

  • GDP (2025): RM88.8 billion (~USD 22.2 billion)
  • Per Capita (2025): RM31,125 (~USD 7,800)

So, what do these data tell us? I hope the construction sector will be a trigger to greater expansion to other economic sectors in Sabah for the next two to five years, and more importantly better job and business opportunities for everyone.

What do you all think?
