Investigation confirms list of Shincheonji members who joined PPP under Lee Man-hee’s orders

[Translated version of the article]

The Joint Investigation Headquarters has now confirmed a list of 65,313 Shincheonji members whose memberships overlap with the ruling People Power Party, and the pattern isn’t random.

According to the investigation, Shincheonji members signed up to the PPP in massive waves right before every major election: the 2021 presidential primary, the 20th presidential election, local elections, and the PPP leadership race. When Yoon Suk-yeol officially joined the PPP in July 2021, Shincheonji-linked memberships reportedly jumped from just over 200 in June to about 3,800 in July — more than a 15x spike. By the primary in September, roughly 6,500 followers had joined.

It didn’t stop there. Ahead of the PPP leadership election, around 35,000 Shincheonji members joined in just two months.

Investigators have reportedly secured an audio recording of then–Shincheonji No. 2, Ko Dong-an, telling a Shincheonji official in December 2022 that “the President’s side is sending someone to our side tomorrow” and that it was “clearly” a renewed request for party enrollment. A campaign director for Yoon is also alleged to have received the PPP membership list from Shincheonji.

In other words: Shincheonji didn’t just “happen” to be in the PPP voter base — it appears to have systematically mobilized its followers to infiltrate the ruling party’s internal elections, allegedly at the request of people close to the President. The investigation is now focused on identifying the “Presidential side” figure who brokered this pipeline between the cult’s leadership and the PPP.

Lee Man Hee walks to his pre-trial detention hearing with his lawyer and leader of legal department, So Jae Heung

The arrest warrant hearing took place at 2:00 PM KST on June 24, 2026. Lee Man Hee's defense is centering their narrative on his advanced age (95, 96 in korean age) and health to avoid pre-trial detention. However, authorities emphasize that medical fragility does not grant legal immunity since there is a clear precedent of other elderly cult leaders being sent to jail despite their physical conditions (Han Hak Ja from Unification Church), a judicial standard reinforced by the fact that South Korea currently houses multiple prisoners in their 90s

To current Shincheonji members: What the scripture actually says about what is happening right now

I was a Shincheonji member for 7 years. I am writing this because I once needed someone to say this to me, and no one did.

You are likely being told that the investigation of Lee Man-hee is persecution. That, in the same way as Satan used the Pharisees, Herod and Pilate to crucify Jesus, Satan is now using prosecutors, courts, and "betrayers" (like me) to attack the promised pastor simply for carrying the word of God.

I understand why that feels true. It really is a powerful narrative. The reason why I believe its wrong its not because it misreads current events, but because it misreads the scripture itself.

Look at what Jesus was actually being persecuted for.

Jesus was not arrested because he had spiritual authority. He was targeted because he exposed the collusion between religious elites and political power. Look at Matthew 23 and Mark 11:15-18, where he overturns the tables in the temple and the chief priests immediately seek to kill him. Look at John 11:47-53, where the Sanhedrin decides Jesus must die specifically to preserve their relationship with Rome: "If we let him go on like this, the Romans will come and take away both our place and our nation."

That is the whole pattern. The chief priests were not opponents of political power, they were partners with it. They leveraged their authority to protect their own position. And when Jesus exposed that, they arranged his execution through the very political machinery they had cultivated.

>Jesus stood against that system. He did not use it.

Now ask yourself what Lee Man-hee is accused of.

This is not allegation. Already 3 senior officials, including Ko Dong-an, the former #2 of Shincheoncji have already been arrested by court order, with the court citing concerns for destruction of evidence (which I myself have personally done under orders during the time of the covid investigation). More than 50,000 Shincheonji members were enrolled into the People Power Party between 2021 and 2023. With the purpose to influence presidential and parliamentary election primaries.

Think about what that means. This is not a pastor being arrested for preaching. This is a religious leader accused of mobilizing his congregation as an instrument of political influence, which is the precise pattern that Jesus condemned. Look at what Jesus said about exactly this kind of leader:

  • Matthew 23:25-27: "Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence. Blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and dish, and then the outside also will be clean. You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of the bones of the dead and everything unclean."
  • Mark 12:38-40: "Watch out for the teachers of the law. They like to walk around in flowing robes and be greeted with respect in the marketplaces, and have the most important seats in the synagogues and the places of honor at banquets. They devour widows' houses and for a show make lengthy prayers. These men will be punished most severely."
  • Luke 16:14-15: "The Pharisees, who loved money, heard all this and were sneering at Jesus. He said to them: 'You are the ones who justify yourselves in the eyes of others, but God knows your hearts. What people value highly is detestable in God's sight.'"
  • Micah 3:11: "Her leaders judge for a bribe, her priests teach for a price, and her prophets tell fortunes for money. Yet they look to the Lord and say, 'Is not the Lord among us? No disaster will come upon us?'"

>Lee Man-hee is not being treated like Jesus. He is accused of doing what the Pharisees did.

The fruit.

Jesus said you will know them by their fruit. What is the fruit here?

Top officials around Lee Man-hee, the ones who were supposed to be filled with the truth and spirit of heaven, are already in custody, arrested by court order. Lee Man-hee himself was previously convicted of embezzling over ₩5.6 billion from church funds, money which was given by members like you and me, to build his private interests. That conviction was upheld by the Supreme Court of Korea.

>A man who embezzles from his congregation and then uses that same congregation as a political instrument is not a martyr. He is not being persecuted for righteousness. He is facing the fair legal consequences of what the evidence, physical records, membership lists, and internal communication shows was done.

Revelation 18:3 speaks of those whose power comes from "the kings of the earth." as a warning about those who build kingdoms through worldly alliance and call it heaven.

Please read the scripture they have given you as the highest truth and ask whether what you are seeing matches the pattern of the martyred prophet, or the pattern of the corrupt priest.

  • Matthew 16:6: "Watch out and beware of the leaven of the Pharisees and Sadducees."
  • Luke 12:1: "Beware the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy."
  • Matthew 23:3: "Do what they say, not what they do."

>The bad yeast is not always outside the temple. Sometimes it is at the top of it.

If there is any part of you that has a question you are afraid to ask, then ask it. Seek the information yourself.

Do not let anyone, for any reason, tell you that seeking truth is the same as listening to Satan.

>That instruction "do not look outside, only trust what we tell you" is not the teaching of Jesus. It is the teaching of every institution that has ever needed to hide something.

With love, and from experience,
— From someone who was once in your place

Evidence pointing to Shitcheonji being behind the data leak involving female employees of the CJ Group.

[Translated version of the article]

The report details mounting evidence that the recent leak of CJ personal information was orchestrated by members of Shitcheonji, not random hackers. A key figure involved allegedly described using internal Shincheonji terminology, calling it the “Jeongtongbu” (정통부), which is known as an internal “information” or “intelligence” unit within Shincheonji. This choice of words, along with patterns in how the data was handled and shared, suggests the operation followed Shitcheonji’s own organizational and communication practices rather than those of ordinary cybercriminals. While the investigation is ongoing, the emerging picture is that Shitcheonji systematically exploited corporate access to harvest and weaponize personal data.

Prosecutors Officially Summon Shitcheonji Leader Money Lee over Mass Ruling-Party Membership Scheme and Tax Evasion

[Translated version of the article]

>South Korea’s joint prosecution–police task force has summoned Shitcheonji leader Money Lee as a suspect, over allegations that he ordered a coordinated campaign to push church members to join the ruling People Power Party under regional quotas. Investigators have already raided Shitcheonji facilities, the party headquarters, and the company managing party membership data while also re‑examining a past tax evasion case in which Lee was not indicted, despite a complaint from the tax office. New suspicions point to lobbying of political and legal figures to suppress that earlier investigation, including attempts by Shitcheonji’s former “second‑in‑command” to contact a former chief prosecutor and the then‑head of the Suwon District Prosecutors’ Office.
