No ticks on deer?
Random thought up here in Wisconsin. So I constantly see people posting trail cam pics of deer that are covered in ticks. My property is loaded with ticks. Every animal in our woods should be covered in them. But, I’ve never once seen a tick on a deer that I’ve killed or on any deer on camera.
My hunting property is only 40 acres. Timber/swamp surrounded by 1000+ acres of ag fields. My theory is that these ag fields get sprayed with pesticides so heavily that the the deer that spend time in these fields also end up picking up that pesticide which kills the ticks. Kind of like putting front line on your dog.
Not sure if this has ever been discussed or studied, but the theory makes sense to me. Anyone have any thoughts/insight?
