I want to see if I would enjoy gardening but there aren't too many volunteering opportunities available. Is there any place or anyone that would take volunteers? I am available Friday - Sunday if anyone is willing to mentor me or let me work with them for one day.

Has anyone here switched from being an engineer to becoming a gardener? I am currently an engineer and I do not enjoy it at all. I am considering the career switch to becoming a gardener and I would like to hear from other experiences about this career move. TIA
