Calling all POs with disorganized backlogs!

You need help getting your backlog in Jira or Azure DevOps organized and in a form that helps your planning and delivery. I need help testing a new AI Map Builder feature that gets your backlog organized quickly!

What's the catch? There is no catch. There is no cost. I won't see your backlog. The AI Map Builder is part of my web application that runs in your browser, using your computer and your memory. I'll give you free access to it for 30 days. You download your backlog from your Jira or ADO project into the tool (it's a copy) and then run the AI Map Builder. No risk to what you have, because you have to decide to upload it... I'll let you save it but you have to request the ability to upload it back into your tool. Enabling it is free, but by having to ask it's an additional step. You will be able to save the organized backlog to your local computer.

What do you get? A well-organized backlog that gives you a defined path to rapid delivery. I will help you get there, gratis. I'll even throw in some free consulting if you are stuck (not just on your backlog, on anything software project-related). That's how I'm helping you for helping me.

What I would like to get from you is feedback. Let me know what you think. Let me know where it needs to be improved. IF you like the results, you could always say something nice about me and/or the product. Is that too much to ask?

There is one catch: I only want up to 10 people, simply because I cannot support more and give you the attention you might need. So, this is open to the first 10 people who reach out... DM me if you're interested.

Mods, not trying to sell something, trying to test something and am willing to give in order to get.

Edited to add:

Re security concerns for those worried about exposing IP to an LLM, the AI implementation here is bring-your-own-key (BYOK). You will configure the tool to support your AI service provider of choice. The tool supports multiple AI providers whether they use the OpenAI or Anthropic APIs. You can use your own private instance of OpenAI, Copilot, or Anthropic, your own hosted LLMs (I've used the Gemma 4 models hosted on my own Mac via vMLX), etc. So, it is as secure as your own AI service provider because it IS your own AI service provider. I'm not in the business of selling AI services or tokens.

Also, no data is stored on my servers... the downloaded backlog is stored in your browser storage and is wiped when you clear it. You can store downloaded backlogs on your file system, or re-upload them back to your tool. Another design choice to eliminate data privacy and security concerns.

Am I imagining things, or has Anthropic put a crimp in Sonnet, maybe as a way to encourage the use of more expensive models?

I've been a software developer since the early 1980s, including a stint at the world's largest software company working on and shipping the original versions of a best-selling product for both Mac and Windows.

Spent much of the past two decades consulting after spending the previous decade in leadership roles, did some coding in C#/.NET for utility and specialized apps, plus ML model development in Python, mostly to keep my hand in. Then decided to turn one of my prototype apps into a real product and rewrote it as a SaaS React SPA running on Azure. Using GenAI to augment my knowledge has been a real accelerator... my algorithms and design but letting it do the coding because it knows the APIs and doesn't make typos. Developed a 'triad' programming approach using Claude Code and Codex as paired agents while I orchestrate, create the requirements, drive implementation planning, and review the output along with them. It's proven to be a very successful and solid way to develop a product that has low tech debt, good design and performance, and is readily maintainable by both GenAI and humans.

But... in the past couple of weeks I've noticed significant degradation of Claude Code using Sonnet. Lots of drift... unnecessary code, not following the implementation plan, not actually implementing functional software. I've caught it but I've had to beat on Claude Code. Codex is helping me spot these gaps. I'm working on an AI-augmented feature for my product and I'm on my fourth rewrite because of drift. It has made me improve my triad framework by updating the various agent files.

This used to work and I could rely on Claude Code and Sonnet. Now... I triple check everything because I've lost trust in it. I spend at least one extra review cycle fixing drift-related issues. I've tried the latest Opus (4.8) and still have some of the same issues.

Has Anthropic deliberately screwed this up or has the training been botched for the latest models? Anyone else seeing degraded performance with Claude Code over the past month or so?

0 to 1... Yeah, baby!

I got my first customer today, after soft-launching in March. I've spent the past couple of weeks working on my marketing, exploring ads on Reddit and LinkedIn... not spending a lot of money but A/B testing and refining the message. I got my CRTs up to over 1% for my targeted audiences on Reddit, and saw about twice the CPM on Reddit as I did on LinkedIn, for a B2B app! (I think LinkedIn is dying, turning from a business networking site to a social networking site with everything but business rising and AI generated posts are becoming almost ubiquitous.)

I need to do some tuning on my landing page, but I'm finishing up adding an AI-based feature to my product. It works great, but I'm getting the glitches out, and should have it shipped by the end of the week. It will take the promise of my product and be as if I'm sitting next to my user and helping them get the same quality results I would have gotten if they'd hired me as a consultant.

I have to admit I was a little down earlier this week, been grinding away without seeing tangible progress, but my first real customer! Things can only get better... right?

Sold my 2021 MBP M1 Pro 10-core 16/1TB laptop today

It was in like-new condition with above 90% battery life. For $800. Buyer and seller agreed it was a good deal; the buyer had looked at other MBPs of the same era and the sellers wanted as much but their laptops were banged up and had lower batter life.

Looking for Startup-related events in the Seattle area (I will not promote)

Enjoyed the recent Startup Day 2006 back in early May. Are there other startup events of note for tech founders in the Seattle area that people would like to share? I'm including AI in my app as a value add but it's not an AI app.

Would enjoy meeting with other founders, would like to go to an event with founders, investors, and advisors. Would like to discuss the pros and cons of seeking investors, the challenges of marketing. I think I have a killer product, would like to practice pitching. In short, it would be nice to find other founders who meet regularly for a beer and discussions, discuss product ideas, and to work on my networking.
