Distancing yourself from a very vocally political member

I am leaving party/opinions out of the post. Do with that as you will.

I love BNI and feel like my chapter and the surrounding ones have been very good to me. I’ve even joined a smaller out of chapter group that is made up of a small amount of members a few nearby chapters. There is one person who I have been networking with, who is VERY vocally political. Each one on one or group meeting, they have made comments about Palestine, BLM, Trans and Gay people, and other similar topics. And their social media is a lot more vocal and clear on their beliefs.

Everytime I talk to them, it feels like I am being backed into having a political conversation, and that is NOT what I am trying to do when I network.

Outside of this, they are nice and successful, and have even referred me to others. I’m just not interested in hearing their political beliefs, and I don’t feel comfortable referring people to someone who’s going to share their political beliefs so openly.

How do I handle distancing myself from this member without creating unnecessary drama.

This feels like a jackpot

Got this at a thrift store for $44.99. I am absolutely obsessed with this. Definitely an original mixed media piece with charcoal/pencil, watercolor, found objects, and collage elements. Plus the frame!

Any idea about the artist. Can’t find a signature but i just bought it 10 mins ago lol

Update: Looks like it is signed Rachel Isaac, a philly based artist, which makes sense because I got it at a Philly thrift store. I’m not 100% sure it’s hers, because her current work isn’t really themed like this, and her signature is different, but obviously that could’ve changed throughout her artistic career. I did DM her on instagram to see if she could confirm it’s indeed a piece by her

Edit 2: Wow, the response to this piece makes me so happy. If you have any feelings about the piece and it’s meaning, i’d love to hear them!

Personally I feel like it’s about the abuse children have experienced in the catholic church. Babies among wolves. The cathedral style arch in the background, the markings across the middle childs faces, the beautiful yet dangerous and harmful looking flowers. Especially the provacative and very jarring baby in the baby’s belly on the left side. Love any suggestion on where you think I should hand it!

Beware Downsizing Solutions

Before you read. Please check out their Yelp Reviews for some context.

Okay.

Full disclosure, it’s been years since I worked for this man, but Phil from Downsizing Solutions was and will always be the worst most disgusting boss I’ve ever had. The man was actually abusive. Would regularly refer to his employees (always new because of the turnover rate) as wage whores. Made comments on my body and would actually scream at us over the smallest things.

My last sale with him, where we frankly fought the whole time, he squeezed behind me 2 separate times during a sale, rubbing his junk on me. That was my last sale. Luckily I was in the process of accepting a new job, so when he fired me by mail, after 6 months of working for him, I got a call from who would layer become my favorite boss ever, giving me a new estate sale job.

Phil is predatory and a narcissist and literally every one of my former coworkers would ageee. I actually wish this man the worst. Rot in hell Phil.

Picked up at a Thrift Store for $5

Picked up in the Wilmington DE area at a thrift store. Signed Capwrll ‘78 at the bottom. Could be some of that mass reproduced art but for $5 i do enjoy it. Any info?
