i said it before but wreck it ralph is a pretty good example of an animated movie that can only work as a 3d animated movie since worlds such as Sugar Rush and Hero's Duty were worlds based off 3d video games,I don't think it would work as well if the movie were made in 2d.

another example(tv show) would be Xavier: Renegade Angel as the 3D animation adds more to the bizarreness of the show.

i saw a comment from a post that came out a few days ago about game development has become so bloated in terms of time and money multiple games in different genres from the same franchise became less and less over the years(there still there just not as much) and it made me wonder:what other gaming trend died/became less of a thing because of this?

to bring out of an example of mine: I say movie license games that release alongside to movies took a massive hit because of development time got longer and longer.

I think Kirby is a good example as back then(about decade and a half ago) a lot of people didn't think he was a powerful god killer that can punch a planet(from kirby super star) and swing a meteor that smash multiple planets out of the solar system(from kirby star allies) until the late 2010s(granted kirby star allies came out in the late 2010s making the point a little moot but still).
