Unthinkable to Unstoppable: How Curt... book by Zach Osterman

New book about the Hoosier's Undefeated Championship Season by Zach Osterman and Mike Nizoliak. Scheduled to be released in September.

I have it on pretty good authority that Upland Brewing is partnering with the publisher on multiple book signing/release events.

Bedside glasses

Until recently I always took my glasses off and left them somewhere besides my nightstand when turning in for the night. I saw a video recently that mentioned something about people who need glasses to see well should keep their glasses near their firearm. I never considered that before. I have a gun and a small flashlight that I keep close to my side of the bed and now I keep my backup glasses there as well.

Am I the only one who never considered this before? It's okay if I am. I learned a long time ago that I'm not the swiftest runner in the race.

Accuracy Secrets For Compact Revolvers!

Hope it's okay to share this here.

When I first started practicing with a snub nose I really struggled with the difference in trigger manipulation when compared to the striker fired pistols I've been carrying for almost 20 yrs. This video was extremely helpful. After a week of dry firing every night and following Roy's advice I was able to see a big improvement in my groups. I still have a ways to go but I am starting to feel more comfortable about carrying my 642 for self defense.

Starting to get used to revolvers

The S&W 642 was my Dad's daily carry for close to 30 years. It's one of the guns he gave to me shortly before he passed a few months ago. It's the least valuable of any of the guns he gave me but it means the most to me because it was always with him.

The Colt is a Cobra from 1954. I bought it from a guy who I worked with. He was a car salesman with a drug problem and I gave him $150 for it back in 2004. I've only put a few rounds through it and I only keep it because it's an old Colt. One of these days I want to get some authentic looking grips for it but it's not been a priority.

I've started carrying the 642 when my wardrobe prevents me from carrying my Echelon AIWB. I've discovered that pocket carry is a great option. Getting used to the double action trigger has taken some work. I'm not as proficient with the revolver as I am with my semis but I'm getting there.

Friendly PSA: Appendix Carry Caution while driving

Some elderly lady decided that today would be a good day to pull out in front of me while I was driving around 60mph. Bang and boom. Out comes the airbag and the waist portion of the seatbelt did its job too. It cinched right up and forced my holstered Echelon straight into my pelvis.

Broken nose from the airbag and a fractured pelvis. I've broken my nose before and it is what it is. It'll feel better when it quits hurting. The pelvis is an altogether different animal. I can't believe how much it hurts.

I used to take the time to tuck the waist part of the seatbelt behind my holster. Not sure why I stopped doing that but I'm sure I won't make that mistake again if I'm ever able to appendix carry again.

Stay safe fellow defenders.
