Best credit card for ₹14 lakh gold jewellery purchase from a offline jeweller?
There is a marriage in my family, and I’m planning purchases worth around ₹16 lakh in total. The biggest expense will be gold jewellery worth approximately ₹14 lakh, likely in February.
The jewellery will not be purchased from Tanishq or any Tata-owned store. It will be from a large, reputed local jeweller.
Options I’ve explored so far ( Please add better options in comment section )
1. Axis Atlas
Gold purchases are excluded from eligible spends, so it’s not useful for this transaction.
2. HDFC Infinia
Unfortunately, HDFC is not willing to issue me an Infinia.
3. HDFC Diners Club Black Metal
HDFC is willing to issue this if I open a salary account with them.
Expected benefits:
~3.3% base reward rate +
₹10,000 voucher on each quarterly milestone
Since the wedding is in February, I may be able to split the purchases across three statement quarters to maximize the milestone benefits.
My only concern: I’m not sure whether my local jeweller accepts Diners Club cards. It’s a large and reputed store, but I’ll need to confirm.
Is DCB Metal the best option for this type of purchase, or are there any other credit cards that would provide a better overall return?
