best way to pump & store breastmilk?

my baby is 4wks old, and currently exclusively breastfeeding. however, i do pump here and there if my boobs starting to get engorged. not much, just to relieve it. i’m so new to this so i have a couple of qs:

- i usually pump ONCE a day if boob is engorged (usually for 2-3days). i would put the bottle container at the back of the fridge for 72hrs, while i keep adding fresh milk to it. is it ok to keep adding to the same bottle container for 3 days (unwashed)? how would you do it otherwise?

- how much ml of breastmilk do you usually freeze in each storage bag, just curious!

thank you!!

pelvic girdle pain, lasting post birth

i started having pelvic girdle pain (PGP) at about 24weeks pregnant. in my third trim it got even worse, that i could barely walk.

it was so painful. i did everything i could. i see prenatal physio, did prenatal pilates, wore compression tights, kept my knees together when getting out of car, used pillow between knees when sleeping + belly pillow, like everything. nothing helped. some days were better, but they were never fully relieved.

anyways i’ve given birth now, i’m 3 weeks PP. the pain has subsided A LOT which is good. but i could still find myself limping and i cant walk fast. some days i feel like its not there, but some days i’m limping again.

i havent lied down on my side for a while because it triggered the PGP. but yesterday, i did lie down on my side without thinking. and then when i tried to get up, my right hip felt really stiff and i heard just clicking there.

anyone else still experience leftover PGP after birth? what do you do about it? i go to my physio and they massaged me, but i feel like its bone & joint problems now. not muscle problem. but idk i might be wrong

if anyone has similar experiences, would love to hear it!

postpartum depression? what have i done. who should i talk to?

hi everyone. i’m a FTM, currently 15days PP. i didnt have a “good” birth, things didnt go to plan & everything i prepared for are for nothing.

quick background: induction at 39wks, cos baby is too big for me. when she was born she was still too “big”, i had 1.5hrs pushing, ended up delivered with vacuum & epidural. have episiotomy & 2nd deg tear. i now have bladder retention & home catheter (and idk when will i be able to take it off).

i feel overwhelmed. some days are better, some are worse. it feels like a never ending cycle of feeding, trying to put her to sleep, trying to sleep if at all, trying to eat and repeat. sometimes after i finish feeding, i rest for 10mins, but baby would want a feed again. sometimes i dread it when she cries. especially when nothing soothes her. people say it’ll get better at 8-12wks, but that feels so far away. and what if it doesnt get better for me?

i dont even feel like having a walk because of my catheter, vaginal heaviness and just leftover pubic bone pain from pregnancy. people say that i need to walk, but it feels like when i do walk it creates another problem for me.

i cant even enjoy watching Netflix anymore because every single free minute i have, i think about resting/sleeping/lying horizontally, or researching about my complications.

good thing is my husband is so so supportive, he does pretty much everything else other than breastfeeding (including taking care of me). and i feel so bad that he does so much, but he seems to be enjoying this new life. but i dont.

everytime i have my baby on my chest, i feel so so guilty for feeling this way. like, what have i done? i promise i’d be a better parent than my parents. but what if i cant? maybe i shouldnt have decided to be a mum. it’s so not fair to my baby.

do you have anyone/helpline recommendations? i know theres PANDA and gidget foundation. and i do have a psychologist i see as well, but shes not specialised in postpartum depression.

any advice/suggestions are welcome. and if you have similar experiences as well, feel free to share.

deep rectum pain post birth

sorry if this is TMI!! but i’ve been having this deep rectal pain everytime i am passing stools. it wasnt like this first couple of days PP, but now i’m 12 days PP - it hurts! its almost like the stools have to pass this narrow passage, before it comes out. once it passes the narrow passage, it doesnt hurt anymore. but when it hurts, i actually had to stop, grabbed on to smth and take a deep breath. its SO painful. its like pooping glass

theres no blood or anything. i do have external hemorrhoids, but i dont think its that cos the outside doesnt hurt. its deep inside that hurts

i used to have similar pain when i had period.

i also have trouble passing gas unless i sit on the toilet.

anyone has experienced something similar?

update info: i had episiotomy, 2nd deg tear stitches. i also have urine catheter at the moment

back on home urine catheter 12days postpartum: is there a light at the end of the tunnel?

i failed 3 trials of void. my baby was too big for my size, so i had to be induced at 39wks (even then, she was still too big). i had epidural, vacuum delivery, episiotomy and 2nd deg tear.

failed my 1st trial of void post birth, they put me on catheter for 24hrs at the hospital. then failed my 2nd one, so they sent me home with a home catheter for a week (leg strap). went back to hospital for the 3rd trial of void, and literally not a single drop of pee came out. i was also a bit hesitant to drink too much, cos the last time my bladder was up to 900ml and i was busting like crazy. for the 3rd one, they found 460ml of water. so they sent me back home with the catheter, but this time its a Flip-Flo (said to train my bladder). i guess its better cos you dont have a bag strapped to your leg.

i am now 12 days PP. and this catheter will be on until next week when i’m 18 days PP.

i unfortunately was diagnosed with bladder retention in my 20s (10yrs ago), but it wasnt bad - just couldnt empty my bladder fully. never really did anything abt it.

has anyone got any stories with successful trial of void after a while? i need to know if theres a light at the end of the tunnel.🥺🩷💔
