I've been paying close attention to the TikTok Shop videos I've edited recently, and one pattern keeps standing out.

The videos that perform best usually aren't the ones with the most transitions or effects. They're often the ones that:

• Show the product almost immediately.
• Keep the hook under 3 seconds.
• Cut every unnecessary pause.
• Use captions that are easy to read instead of filling the screen with text.
• Feel like a normal TikTok instead of a polished commercial.

I used to think adding more animations made a video stronger, but lately I've found that keeping the edit simple and letting the product demonstration lead seems to work better.
