I’m looking for a controller that gives strong Game Boy Advance / classic Nintendo handheld vibes. Something in the style of the Retro-Bit DMG Gray controllers (https://retro-bit.com/controllers/platinum-collection/origin8/) or old-school retro pads in the design of a gameboy advance.
The problem is that while I really like the Retro-Bit design and nostalgia factor, I’ve read a lot of mixed opinions about the build quality and long-term durability. Some people say they feel great at first, but the D-pad or buttons wear out pretty quickly.
What I’m searching for is basically:
Unfortunately 8BitDo doesn’t really seem to have a controller with that exact Game Boy Advance vibe/design, even though their build quality is usually considered much better.
Which controller would you recommend for this? I mainly care about: comfort for retro games, premium feel, durability, retro handheld/Game Boy aesthetics. Would love to hear your recommendations or personal experiences :)
Does anyone know the current state of Lepton?
More importantly, when is it expected to be released? There’s always bits and pieces floating around, but nothing really clear.
