Jumpers & Reversals
Hey all! I have heard it said that some Oracle deck creators don’t really like using jumper cards as the main way for selecting a card for the day; rather they see them as extra cards that add to a scenario after you have intentionally and intuitively selected a card on your own. And those same creators do consider reversed cards as having a particular message.
My question is: do you all randomly mix up how your cards are oriented in the deck - as in you put some of them upright and some of them reversed before fanning them out? If all your cards are facing in the same direction, and you don’t look at which way your deck is facing when you fan them out, then all the cards will be reversed so you will definitely get a reversed card. And vice versa, if you always fan them out facing upward, you’ll never get a reversed card. If you use jumpers, then it seems to me the card kind of decides whether it needs to come out upright or reversed. And I feel weird just randomly putting some cards upright and some reversed before fanning them out. Also, in some decks the back of the card looks different on one end compared to the other, so you can tell even though they’re face down if a card is upright or reversed.
The length of this message is telling me that I’m probably overthinking this! 🤪😂
I’m just curious as to how people who don’t use jumper cards ever end up with a reversed card?
Thoughts?
