Recs for hand drawn deck?

Hi! I'm trying to compile a list of hand drawn oracle decks. Do you have one that you love? Note- by "hand drawn" I don't mean "not AI art" I mean "no computers involved." As in- the illustrator sat down with a pen/pencil/paintbrush and drew the artwork on a piece of paper or canvas. Not looking for decks that were drawn using digital software. Thanks!

My little bro and I made an oracle deck from the stars of Zi Wei Dou Shu (purple star astrology): Six of the stars here

Zi Wei Dou Shu (known as Purple Star astrology) is practiced across China, Vietnam, Taiwan, and much of East Asia.

It casts your birth date and hour into a chart of 12 life palaces (love, wealth, career, health, and so on). Named stars are placed across them, roughly 108 depending on the school.

You can read a Western chart without a birth time, a Zi Wei chart can't be cast without the hour.

For all its popularity, Zi Wei Dou Shu is famously hard to get into. A chart is a grid of star names in text. The stars never had illustrations the way tarot has. We wanted the stars to be learnable by looking at them, so we gave each one a face.

This deck is 72 of those stars, one card each. The names are my English renderings but every card keeps the star's actual chart meaning, hard edges included:

1. Peach Blossom (桃花, Táo Huā)
Love, charm, sexiness.
"Peach blossom luck" still means a wave of romantic attention across East Asia.

2. Great Gate (巨門, Jù Mén)
Rumor, dispute, mystery.
One of the major stars, and a dark one: the star of what's said, whispered, and left unsaid.

3. Wolf of Desire (貪狼, Tān Láng)
Versatility, charisma, ambition.
The most magnetic and most restless star in the system; in a chart it marks where appetite drives you.

4. Integrity (廉貞, Lián Zhēn)
Righteousness, lust, fiery.
The tradition puts discipline and desire on the same star deliberately: one force, two directions.

5. Emperor (紫微, Zǐ Wēi)
Leadership, power, mercy.
The star the whole system is named for, everything else is read relative to it.

  1. Warrior (七殺, Qī Shā)
    Conqueror, authority, arbiter.
It is literally "Seven Killings" - the general's star; in a chart it marks where you fight.

The art dresses the stars across those cultures. Great Gate wears a Vietnamese layered robe and head-wrap, while the Emperor's beaded crown is the imperial dress of both Chinese and Vietnamese courts.

Why an oracle deck from Purple Star astrology?
A chart is fixed. Your birth date and hour decide which stars sit in your palaces, that part is calculation, not chance.

The deck is the free-will half. You're born carrying certain stars, but nothing stops you from taking up any of the 72 as a symbol to work with on a given day.

The chart tells you what you have, a draw is choosing what to reach for.

My little bro is an astrologer and tarot reader, and I build games. Happy to answer questions about the stars or how the deck came together!

I built a tarot journal because I kept forgetting my own readings. Looking for thoughtful Android testers.

Hi everyone,

I've been reading tarot for years, and one thing always frustrated me: every reading felt meaningful in the moment, but after a few weeks I couldn't remember how it connected to everything that came before.

So over the past year I've been building a personal project called Arcana Weather. Instead of focusing on one reading at a time, it helps you remember recurring cards, moods, moon phases, and symbolic patterns across your tarot practice.

It's finally ready for a small Android beta, and I'm looking for about 12 thoughtful testers who are willing to use it for a couple of weeks and share honest feedback before I launch on Google Play.

If you're interested, leave a comment or send me a DM and I'll send you the details.

I'd also love to know: how do you currently keep track of your readings?

shuffling oracle cards

i recently got oracle cards and theyre so hard to shuffle. i already have tarot cards and those are way easier to shuffle. i already know how to get jumpers from my tarot deck. but my oracle cards are harder to shuffle and i need help on how i can shuffle them to get jumpers. they’re very slick.

how i shuffle my tarot deck is that i cut it in half, hold one half in my left hand and the other in my right while my left thumb slides the other half of the deck down. and i do that in a quick motion.

i have tried everything with my oracle deck and i get jumpers very rarely. any advice?

Sibyls Oraculum Oracle: Your Thoughts?

Hi there! Not quite a beginner but was unsure what other flair to use.

I’m interested in the Sibyls Oraculum: The Black Doves of Africa deck by Tayannah Lee McQuillar.

Has anyone here used it? If so, what were your thoughts?

Your Aorathian Card of the Day : Curiosity & Experimentation

Settling into perfection can quickly become stuck in a rut.

Nature changes. What resists change calcifies

You and the world you live in only exist due to anomalous asymmetry, a divergence from the perfect balance between matter and anti-matter.

Your next adventure sits at the door of the imperfection you allow through questioning your assumptions, experimenting with new modes and environments, and allowing things to get messy.

PS: Much appreciation to those who are posting and promoting the deck when they get it. I love seeing it in your hands and hearing how much value it brings!

Please review and give feedback 🙏

Hello my divine cartomancer family :)

I have been working on this set of 6 oracle cards for a few weeks and I think they are finally finished. I would greatly appreciate feedback on them and particularly the guide as I am going to do the next 6 soon and I want to make sure the guide is perfect before following the same format 🙏

The Forgotten Creatures design will be the back of the card.

I would love any overall feedback though as I am still an oracle & tarot baby.

Can I have a feedback on this particular card ?

I'm working on my first oracle deck, I'm a professional artist and I don't use Ai. I made this one intuitively, without thinking and now I'm scared Of it. I think it's pretty horrific and I don't know if it belongs in an oracle deck or in a psychward lol Can I have some feedback ? The title says "Intimate"

Need second opinions on my Lenormand interpretation

I did this Lenormand spread and asked:

What do people think or say about me that I’m not aware of?

My interpretation so far:

I see Woman as representing me.

Tower makes me think I come across as private or distant.

Stars feels like admiration or positive energy.

Anchor and Tree make me think stability, maturity, and emotional strength.

Mice makes me wonder if people notice internal stress or overthinking that I usually keep to myself.

Overall I think people may see me as independent, emotionally reserved, and stronger than I actually feel internally.

Do classical art decks exist??

Hey all,

I'm looking for oracle decks with classical art like neo classical, pre raphaelite, art nouveau, etc.

Decks that feel lush and decadent but aren't overly feminine.

I know some Aphrodite themed decks exist like that but I'm looking for something more neutral.

There's Broccoli mag too but their guidebooks are horrible, I don't mind a short card meaning but the way those are written is almost like a riddle.

For example I totally love the Venus Morningstar Tarot but looking for an oracle.

Photography, old art or illustrated, if the style feels on point are all welcome! With guidebook, no AI, indie or mass market are both fine as long as they are still available.

Thank you 🌹🖤🌹

Help interpreting deck interview question 3: what is your weakness? Seasons of the Witch Litha Oracle by Anderson & Diaz

Hello! I am in the process of interviewing my Litha deck and would like suggestions and guidance interpreting the question for Card 3: What is your weakness (p. 14 in the guide book).

I have run into this same issue with other decks in this series. The card that I usually pull for this interview question seems positive and encouraging, which leaves me struggling to interpret it through the lens of the deck's "weakness". My friend is experiencing the same challenge with her deck.

For example, today I pulled "Hanging baskets (13): Lean into the essence of receiving, for there await the things you've been telling yourself are out of reach". Key words are attraction, beauty, learning to receive. Am I to understand that the deck itself is experiencing difficulty with these specific elements in its learning journey and therefore cannot help me as much in this arena?

I only began my journey interpreting oracle messaging last summer, and would greatly appreciate any advice.

Thank you!

Shout out to the exceptionally talented illustrator of this deck, Tijana Lukovic! I am absolutely obsessed with this artist's beautiful illustrations.
