I'm really enjoying the FDR. It's very unique in its game play and actually feels like it can withstand LT AA fire. Planes are slow but can take a beating.
I've spec'd into HE bomb damage, plane toughness, and plane regen/return speed.
I suspected that the Schroeder was going to be there but not the Yugumo, I panicked and popped the first few torps too far forward, could've had the double strike. Still one of my best ranked moments though.
I did end up burning the Yugumo down just a few seconds after this clip.
Time to see how it stacks against Midway and Hakuryu, which honestly set the bar pretty low in LT.
We still lost but I ended up with a Kraken and torping/destroying another DD.
So with the 50% coupon, I've seen a few posts asking about which ship to buy, and Graf Spee does come up for various reasons. I got her out of a crate a while ago, and while I do enjoy playing her, I (as others have pointed out) tend to not be very effective. I know there is nothing overly spectacular about her, but I don't feel she's incapable either.
So my question is this, what is the optimal build/play style for Graf Spee?
A while back someone asked what the best T5 DD hunting CV was and I said Independence. I was down voted as most agreed it was Ark Royal . The planes are tough, the turning radius is tight and the bombers are fairly maneuverable in dive, none of those are true for AR.
Obligatory CV = bad. However, CV doing its job = good!
I don't normally play ranked, and typically don't rank above 6 when I do. Currently on a 5 game win streak with T-61, and it's been a lot of fun actually. The DD knife fights have been amazing. I am hoping to finally complete my first ranked season!
