How to secure small foam bits for painting?

I'm currently working on foam bits for a glove and theyre quite small. I'm currently using a method I learned from painting gunpla (sticks with blu-tack on them) but the blu tack doesn't adhere that well to the EVA foam so sometimes some pieces just fall/fly off when they get hit with a burst of spray paint.

Is there a better way to keep pieces in place while painting them?

Plastidip-only EVA Foam?

It's my first time working with EVA foam and I was wondering, since the piece I'm working on is white anyway, Can I just get away with just using white Plastidip instead of using black Plastidip and painting it white?

I tried looking up whether someone has already tried it but most conversations I've found about using it is about using it as a base for another layer of paint.
