Watering advice for Cyanea when kept out of soil
Just bought this Wallisia / Tillisanda Cyanea plant but I'm a little confused by how to water it. The jar is mostly empty; the plant is just standing loose in it and can easily be removed (I can move it to a wider open jar if required.) I've found websites saying it can be grown without being potted but most of the advice for watering mentions being potted in bark so I'm unclear how to water it when it is kept open.
For Airplants I normally soak them in a bowl of rainwater and leave them upside down to dry which works really well.
Can I immerse it in water like the airplants or should I not get the pink flower spike wet? Some people say to pour water into the bottom leaves of the plant while others say to keep the inside completely dry to prevent rot and to just mist the leaves every few days instead. Which is correct? Any advice about watering would be helpful.
(I am also familiar with orchid care; I'd prefer not to plant it a pot/bark if possible, though I do have some available if I need to).
