Hi,

I have a new computer and I want to transfer my old zotero library to my new one. My old computer is backed up in cloud storage on BackBlaze. I can access the full file structure on my old computer, but I can't go into it and actually export the zotero library. I assume, though, that the references I saved in zotero exist somewhere in the file structure on my old computer? Is there a way to download and restore those files from the cloud? If so, what would they be called and where are they located? I've been able to download pretty large files from the zotero folder called zotero.sqlite, are they in there? How do I get them into my new computer?

Was just noticing at a baseball game how much of the soundscape is now dominated by constant, non-stop, pre-fab amplified sounds from the speakers, leaving almost no room for actual organic, bottom up fan chants. It feels like the stadium managers are clearly worried the fans will get bored if they aren’t being hyped up by digital noise every 10 seconds, but the result is that the cheering and chanting feels so much less authentic and fun vs if you just let the crowd cheer and chant on their own.

Same deal with protests and marches. A large crowd cheering and chanting organically with their own voices sounds so much better than a single bozo with a shrill loudspeaker constantly trying to lead the chants.

More broadly, amplified sound has destroyed the culture of communal singing and music making that was a central part of cultures all over the world for millennia. Before stereo systems started becoming available in the mid-20th century, if you had a party at your house, people would sing songs communally, or a particularly talented friend would be called on to sing or play piano or fiddle, etc. I think this is a huge psychic loss that we don’t really appreciate. Parties and social gatherings are much worse for the fact that the default now is to just turn on a stereo with pop music songs.
