Service Tech Backpack/tool bag what do you use

Getting pretty tired of carrying my backpack with my laptop, router, switch, device etc and my tool bag. I have a mini tool bag that fits in my backpack but I’m starting to wonder if it’s easier to just get a tool backpack. Have all electronics in some sort of pouch and then tools as well. Half the jobs I won’t need my tools just bring precision maybe a flathead just. Any insights or experiences that have helped?

Mattress toppers worth the hype? Latex/Wool combo

I have a spring mattress that is part of the furnished place. I was thinking a latex topper 3 inches firm then a wool topper for a bit of softness. I am a side sleeper only pain is lower back typically. Is a $400 latex topper and a $400 wool layer on that worth it or just getting something for like $150 each going do to the same thing? Does anyone have any recommendations. I have the budget for the better gear but I don’t really know if it’ll actually make a difference???

Do you use ferrule crimps?

I swapped the wires on a vav controller last week and whoever installed it had taken the time to use ferrule crimps, it made my life much easier in the ceiling and was neat and tidy. I’m considering doing this moving forward but each tool adds more weight to the bag and wasted money if I never end up using them. Anyone swear by them or tried it and wasn’t worth your time?

Tools advice (What are you best items?)

Having to buy all my tools after moving country. Previously my jobs had supplied everything as I was always in house so I’m realising the expense to get everything at once is not super fun. After my last question got the Klein blue strippers they’re great no issues thanks everyone for your replies.

I reckon 11-1 Klein as it’s always served me well never used the impact one not sure if that is a good buy? Won’t be working with anything over 24V, should my precisions be insulated? Trying not to rack up a massive bill right away. I’ve got my mm thinking an adjustable and side cutters should cover my basics?

What will get me through 90% if service calls, what’s your fix most things setup?
