Casio A168 fake?
I'm almost certain this is a fake, but would appreciate others thoughts before I start a refund / report process on Ebay.
Purchased 'as new' in Australia from a seller who has 99.8% positive feedback, sold over 2 thousand units, has 230 followers and has around 200 watches listed, mostly Casio, G-Shock, Seiko and Citizen (among a few others, all Japanese brands I think?)
For starters it has 'Japan' on the back.
When I start the stopwatch the last digit of the 100's of seconds constantly displays '9' unless stopped (my other Casio's visibly display last digit even though it is obviously very quick).
There is no visible dot near the 24H part of the screen when I depress all buttons, which confuses me as I thought it would be larger, like on the image commonly shown here to identify fakes. But there is no dot at all. Bonus question, can anyone tell me when that dot is displayed in normal use?
The sound of the chime is much louder, but the same tone (to my old ears anyway) than on any of my other Casios (A700WM-7A, F91W, A158WA).
There was also no instruction manual in the box, and other signs such as not as good a finish on unit, unit weighs 62 grams, not 50 as specified on Casio site, etc, etc, etc.
Please see pics and let me know what you think.
Thanks :)
PS: edited to add, pretty certain I set time accurately upon receiving item yesterday, it was about 6 seconds out today!
