doctor

so i went to a new doctor recently bc my current one is just useless tbh and doesn't address things I even come in there for bc she's so concerned with my iron. it is an issue but if that's not what I'm coming in for there's no reason to always be bringing it up especially since ive been anemic for most of my life. anyway, this new doctor seems very helpful! only had one appt and she already is sending me for some labs, imaging and tests including a stool test and she said she thinks I might have h. pylori and bad constipation. I'm so happy and hopeful to finally be getting some answers and help with this issue instead of trying to figure it out all on my own. she did ask me what health concerns I have and I couldn't bring myself to just say I smell all the time 😂😂 so I just listed some gut issues and that's how she came to a conclusion of what can be happening. maybe at the next appt I'll mention it, bc she does seem super welcoming and like she really wants to help which is a breath of fresh air from my previous experiences

Protein

anybody here vegan/vegetarian? I experimented today with not eating my 4 oz of chicken I have with my lunch daily and I can definitely tell a difference in how my body reacted but that's where most of my protein for the day comes from. what protein sources do you use that don't cause reactions??

Mediterranean diet

Does anyone follow the Mediterranean diet either purposely or just lifestyle wise without realizing it? I already have a similar diet, but I'm going to make the switch to doing it full out 100%. It focuses mostly on healthy fats such as olive oil, nuts and seeds, lots of veggies and fruit, whole grains (I'll be using brown jasmine rice only), legumes(i won't be doing these yet), lean meat and fish. The only iffy part really is the fish and legumes 😬 I'll be doing 4oz of cod 2x a week and chicken breast 4x a week then 1 non meat day. Might add some legumes but not until next year. My symptoms improve when I follow a whole food based diet but I keep falling off the wagon/having cheat days that set me back. I think consistency with a healthy fats, moderate protein & low carb lifestyle could be my cure if I actually stick to it!
