The desire to live when my hygiene isn’t sufficient and doctors say I don’t smell but others say otherwise.
I’ve been experiencing body odor for almost half a year. The first couple of months were rough due to not understanding how I developed a strong body odor, what could be causing it. TIL this day I don’t understand. I’ve sweated and smelled like a normal person does but this body odor is poten, musk, and I’ve heard people say it smells like shit. Although I get more of a garbage smell when I sweat a lot and it’s humid. I’ve seen a couple of docs + derms but all say they don’t smell any offensive odor. However, I catch myself at home and the BO lingers in the bathroom and everywhere else as well as the hallway and when I’m outside people have described me when they point it out that I smell to their friends so I know it’s me as well as the bus. I this point I don’t know if it has to do with my gut but I genuinely believe is my hair as it’s gets everywhere. I was diagnosed with dermatitis but I have no symptoms just a terrible odor that fills the room. My shower routine is pan oxyl on armpits, behind neck, ears, bum, groin, feet. Sometimes 1-2 I use hibiclens in these areas. For the rest of the body I use ivory ph on the rest of my body. Shampoo I use is pan oxyl with clindamycin solution on scalp. If anyone experiencing similar issues what helped you? What did you ask your doctor? Any referrals I should ask for? ATP I believe it’s a medical condition (I’ll like it to be) rather than a hygiene issue. I know sweat is odorless but bacteria keeps forming and I don’t know how to get rid of it. For laundry I use perisil detergent and Lysol sanitizer. I can’t mask the odor with scented lotion or cologne/perfume.
Since I don’t smell it as strong as I used to I need to make sure I can still smell it because it’s embarrassing as an adult. And as the headline as mentioned it it’s affecting my life and I don’t see the joy in anything if I’m always reminded of how much I smell.
