Super confused and scared about late fillings

Hello,

I am a UK/Irish/American citenzen and I haven't filed taxes to America.

I was born and have lived in the UK for 25 years and have visited America once on holiday. My father who was dual Irish/American passed away and I was never aware I needed to complete tax returns.

I am currently spiraling as I don't know where to begin.

My main concerns and confusion is in regards to recieving company insurance payout from my father passing away which was a considerable amount but below the 300k dollars. I also have a Lifetime ISA with a couple of years of savings open because I did not know the complications of US tax filing and ISA's.

I have a SSN although the middle name was spelt incorrectly and I haven't been able to visit the embassy to visit.

Could anyone give advice on where to begin, if I should get a specialist and if there are any affordable independant people. I am concerned abotu what I will need to pay or what I should do.

Friendly cat flips and gets viscous

Hi all,

I am looking for some advice/space to rant. I have been looking after a 1.5 year old male ragdoll a couple of times now and when I first did a meet and greet everything seemed fine. I have a ragdoll at my mums and know how lovely they usually are.

First issue is the house is quite small the cat is in and it doesn’t have much to play with or entertain itself during the day. I am scheduled for drop in for an hour in the morning and evening. I start the visit and the cat is very friendly wants lots of cuddles follows me everywhere. I will play with him and pet him, then change the food and litter.

Usually after 15-30 minutes after he is done with the sweet boy cuddles he flips and extremely quickly will start bolting at me from across the room and trying to bite and scratch my feet. I will pull him off and this has previously resulted in him scratching my hands. I have had to either lock myself in a different room or the cat just to get away from him attacking me. It is odd because the attacking does seem playful somewhat, but it gets very viscous and I have had him pounce towards my face. I do imagine he is very anxious and stressed his owner isn’t here and gets overwhelmed. One of the only things that breaks him out of this behaviour to allow me to leave is giving him a treat to get him away, which I feel bad doing and somewhat enabling bad behaviour.

I have tried to gently mention the issues to the owner and I think they did already know about the issue. I feel bad for the cat as he’s obviously very lonely and anxious left for hours with little to do and no one to see, but the stress each time waiting for him to snap and attack me is a lot.

Unfortunately I am quite tight on money otherwise I would want to prioritise other clients and I do like the cat and the owner, but I’m just at a loss for how to handle this.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
