Case Study Presentation

I was just invited for a final interview for a director level role. It will be a case study presentation. This is the first interview of this kind I have had. Has anyone had one before? Anyone know how to prep or what to expect? Any insight is appreciated

Odds Increased with Location Exception?

I was brought into a screening with a recruiter for a director position. The job was not local and I was asked if I would relocate. I politely told them I could not move, but let them know that I believed I would be a solid candidate for the role and left her with some bullet points to hand off to the manager.

Fast forward a month later and I received a call from the same recruiter. She told me that she was able to get with the hiring manager and he really likes my experience and would be willing to let me stay local and would like to schedule an interview. She tried to schedule and interview for the same week but our schedules did not align. We scheduled one for next week (virtual with VP/hiring manager) and said the following interview would be in person.

I don’t want to read into anything but my initial thoughts are as follows:

- they probably didn’t have the candidate pool they were hoping for

- my experience fit the bill and they would rather have the right person than not be flexible

I feel like this exception being made makes me a very strong contender but have not been in this situation before. Given my thoughts about a lack of candidate pool, I picture myself being one of very few in the running now. The role has been open for a few months and I know they want to move somewhat quickly.

In your experience, do you think these assumptions are potentially correct? How would you all view this situation? Preparing my ass off for the interview, but it is always helpful to know internal dynamics and how these things usually pan out.
