I have worked in the healthcare sector as a Respiratory Therpaist for the last 17 years. I really enjoy being in healthcare and feel it’s a good fit for me. I am considering a switch into executive management/quality and would like to start climbing the ladder into one of these jobs. After much reading I have found that most people say to get an MBA due to its versatility. I wanted to get the opinions of others and see what would be the best move for me given my situation. Thanks!
Hello everyone, I currently work in healthcare as a respiratory therapist with 18 years experience. I have an AS degree and BS degree in respiratory therapy. I would like to transition to an autopsy tech or medico legal death investigator. Can you provide what education would best set me up for this? Thanks

I am an RT of 17 years and have always had an interest in tinkering with things and fixing things. I would like to know if it’s worth it to get into ventilator and anesthesia machine repair. What certifications would help? I have a BS degree in RT and took an intro to electronics course.
Has anyone become a volunteer firefighter in there 50s? I am currently 43 and well situated in a hospital career. I would like to challenge myself and serve my community in a different capacity.
I recently read an article that said Mayo Clinic was doing away with RT at night. Do you think other hospital systems will file suit? Do you see RT coming to an end in the near future? Should I go back to school and study another career as a back up to RT? I love being an RT and would hate for the career to end.
Hello I’m an RT with 15 years experience in all facets of respiratory including Nicu. Has anyone ever been drawn to Nicu and wanted to specialize in caring for neonates? I find working with neonates to be rewarding and fulfilling. I would like to take my NPS and other neonatal certifications to become an expert with neonates.
I’m a 43/m and have been having some voice issues/hoarseness/throat clearing over the last month or so. I decided to get in with and ENT. He did a scoping procedure and everything looked good minus my adenoid. He said it was red/swollen and likely contributing to my post nasal drip that has been pooling by my vocal cords. He put me on a 10 day course of antibiotics and wants to repeat the scoping in a month. I have done some reading and learned that it’s more rare for adults to have adenoid tissue. I do have an extensive history of allergies and get allergy shots once a month. I did read that rarely this could be a sign of sinus cancer or lymphoma which has me worried. I did ask him if he thinks it’s malignant and he flat out said no. I am trusting his judgement that he knows what he’s talking about. Any other adults here have adenoid issues or surgery to remove the adenoid? He said that if the antibiotics don’t clear this up that’s the next step.
Does anyone out there have a feeling of Two beats and a PVC? (Trigeminy) I will randomly get this feeling throughout the day. It’s a really weird sensation and I can even feel a forceful thud in my stomach. I have had many tests including ekg, stress test, blood labs, chest X-ray, holter, and echocardiogram. All tests come back negative.
