How did they get my info?

Long story short, some guy didn’t like what I said to them in an Instagram comment on a public post. My account is private and only shows my first name. My profile pic isn’t posted anywhere else.

They proceeded to pull up old posts I was tagged in and begin commenting there, but I guess they could’ve found that on google. Then they started tagging family members of mine that I don’t even follow and said I don’t know about “back door”. They said they could see my DMs.

Safe to say I’m a little freaked out, but I want to know how he got my info like that and what I should be doing to protect my info online moving forward.

Thanks!

Am I the client from hell? Why does this keep happening?

I want to preface this by saying I really try to do my research and choose stylists that have great portfolios of blondes and I try not to be a backseat driver and just let them work. I do let them know that my hair tends to really hang on to warmth and to beware of that, but other than that I try to let them do what they feel is best for my hair.

I get blonde balayages a couple times a year. These are very expensive services where I live and unfortunately I just seem to leave unhappy every time. I’ve tried like 3 different stylists that have given me the same problem. There is only one stylist I’ve been to that has nailed it each time, but I moved states and now it would require a plane to see her.

Today I tried to keep my cool, but inside I was so upset that I had just gotten the most expensive service I’ve ever had ($400) and my roots were still much warmer than the rest of my hair, which is what I hate and happens nearly EVERY TIME. I emphasized so much that I prefer it to be on the cooler side and I wanted no part of “honey blonde”. Even a few years ago when I just had a blonde money piece in the front of my hair, I ended up fixing it myself at home with some lightener to make it match the rest of the hair shaft.

It was awkward when I didn’t like my hair and the stylist offered to fix it for me next week, so I’m going to let her try again, but I’m scared. I don’t think it’s the water in my house because I saw my old stylist I like on a trip earlier this year and I didn’t have any issues. Is it just my hair??? Is it the products used vs whatever my old stylist used? Do people just suck? Am I being unreasonable?

Photo of me with heart face is what I showed the stylist today from the last time I had it done and liked it.

Other photos are of yellow roots from today.

My partner is traveling to Medellìn for a festival and I am concerned about safety - any tips?

My partner recently got tickets to EDC Colombia for this year with his friends. It would be his first trip abroad as an adult. We are American. I have traveled more out of the two of us, he has never really ventured too far out of south Florida except a trip to visit a friend in another state here and there.

I try to keep an open mind when I travel and not believe all of the internet hype, but I won’t lie, Colombia makes me nervous. I know there has been a lot of distaste for Americans in recent years and some pretty horrible headlines about drugging tourists and even some murders. I would assume inside the festival is probably fine, as well as walking around populated areas during the day, but I am quite nervous about the night life, which they plan to check out after the festival ends each day.

He is Latino and fully bilingual, but he’s culturally very American. He will take out his phone and take videos of EVERYTHING when we’re in a new place together or at a show. He will sometimes get distracted on his phone in public and not be totally aware of what’s going on around him. He likes to wear nice clothes and expensive sunglasses. He’s also very outgoing and makes friends everywhere we go, which I love about him, but I worry he’d be too trusting of someone there who maybe doesn’t have good intentions. Mix all of this with a few drinks and I fear he is a perfect target for someone to rob him.

We’ve talked about this and he of course says he’ll be extra careful, not take out his phone much, leave the expensive stuff home. A few of the guys in the group have been to Colombia before and almost all of them speak Spanish, so they have that advantage. I’m just concerned for his safety and want him to have a safe trip. I’m not sure which neighborhood they are staying in, but I’m assuming it will be something convenient to what they want to do.

Are my fears overblown? Any Medellìn specific safety tips I can pass along to him? Thx!

Off brand ink that is less likely to dry out?

I bought an HP 5055 printer in college while I was printing often, specifically for a big capstone project.

Fast forward 7 years and I still have the thing, but it now functions as a normal household printer. I really don’t need to print very often, but I like to have it there for when I do. The thing that is driving me insane with this printer is that the ink seems to dry out almost INSTANTLY. I’ve given up replacing it and go get ripped off at over $1 a print sometimes at my local staples. I had another basic HP printer before this one and didn’t have any problems like this ever. My ink cartridges will say they’re full, but print completely empty pages or sad pink streaks.

Before you tell me how to unclog the printheads, I’ve tried it all. The alcohol, the warm water, I’ve watched so many YouTube videos. It’s been over a year since I tried to replace anything, so the ones I have in there are certainly crispy and dry now.

I have been needing to print again lately and I want to try to be proactive- is there an off brand ink that doesn’t do this?! Is there a real way to prevent this from happening? I don’t remember ever having to make sure I printed a page 1x a month with my old printer. It would sit in storage every summer for 3 months til I returned to college for multiple years. I think I replaced the ink on that printer like twice ever.

I don’t really want to buy a new printer right now, but if there’s a brand others would suggest works better that can do color and BW, I would definitely consider replacing this thing when I move instead of taking it with me.

Thank you 🖨️

Restaurants that offer gluten free?

I have celiac and need to find the safest restaurant in Jackson that will take gluten-free seriously for a work dinner I have to attend. I just got so sick on another work trip due to gluten, and I am nervous about finding a safe place to go.

The Find Me GF app isn’t very helpful for this city. Any ideas?!
